Holmes Farm Country Cottages - Wagtail Cottage

Wagtail Cottage is a single-storey barn conversion on a working farm in the Leicestershire countryside. It sleeps six across three bedrooms: a kingsize with ensuite shower, a double, and a zip-and-link kingsize that splits into two singles on request. There's a family bathroom with bath and shower, plus a second toilet. The open-plan ground floor holds a living area with woodburner, a dining space, and a kitchen fitted with electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. The courtyard outside has garden furniture and direct access to the owners' field.

All the essentials are covered: electricity, heating, bed linen, towels, wifi and initial logs for the woodburner are included. There's parking for three cars on site. One dog can stay free, though it must be kept on a lead as sheep graze locally. The cottage is no-smoking throughout.

The village pub is within a mile. Foxton, a mile away, has a shop and access to Foxton Locks on the Grand Union Canal. Market Harborough, five miles off, is a market town with independent shops, restaurants and cafés, plus a train station with a one-hour service to London. Walking, cycling and horse riding are all popular in the area.
