Families and small groups find Frank's works well for a Highland base. The cottage has two bedrooms (each with a double bed), one shower room, and a fully equipped kitchen where you can cook proper meals. Downstairs is open-plan with wooden floors, a wood burner for atmosphere, and underfloor heating keeping things warm. The essentials—electricity, heating, wifi, bed linen and towels—are all sorted, and there's laundry facilities in an external room.
The enclosed garden has a sitting area and a barbecue. You get two car spaces and a bike store. A travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available if needed. The cottage is in Bornesketaig, a working crofting community north of Uig; Camus More, a sheltered bay where you can launch kayaks and watch seals, is within walking distance. The area connects to local activity centres offering kayaking and climbing, and there's history nearby including Kilmuir Cemetery and the Museum of Island Life. No smoking indoors.

Lovely stay at Franks for a week at the end of September. The location is great for getting away from it all and the sunsets were amazing. The house itself was beautiful. Touches of luxury all over the place - reclining sofas, induction hob, good size fridge and freezer, electric blanket in the bed (we didn't need that though :) ) When we first arrived the smoke alarm battery kept beeping. But once we reported it to Ina, Alan came round and fixed it promptly. One of the best self catering we've stayed in.

What a fabulous place this is. From the outside it looks like so many of the well maintained Mountain Bothies I’ve stayed at - but once inside - WOW! It’s like a 5 star show home with everything you could possibly need and more. Absolutely stunning. We arrived late and it was dark. We sent a text to Ina to say we had arrived. I got a return text telling us to step back out the front door. Not the response we expected but we did and we’re rewarded with a show from the Northern Lights. Now that’s a welcome you don’t get everywhere. Highly recommend this place - especially in Winter.

We spent an absolutely amazing weekend at Frank's cottage. It's located in a truly unique place with breathtaking views, the cottage is beutifully furnished and equipped with anything you might need and more! We didn't meet the hosts but due to the attention to detail in the cottage we felt most welcomed! I heartily recommend staying here!
