Lochside Log Cabin

The NC500 route runs a couple of miles away, and Brora itself is close enough for supplies and a break from the quiet. Dornoch lies 16 miles south if you want a larger town; Inverness is just over an hour's drive. The cabin sits on 15 acres of private croft land alongside its own small loch stocked with brown trout, which guests can fish free of charge. This is a solid base for exploring Scotland's far north without the noise of busier locations.

The entire cabin is yours alone. Everything is on the ground floor: an open-plan living space with Freeview TV, a dining area, and a kitchen with electric oven, hob and microwave. Three bedrooms sleep five—a kingsize, a double and a single—with one shower room. An enclosed garden with seating looks out over the grounds. Parking for two cars sits on site, and wi-fi keeps you connected.

The fenced garden borders the loch beyond, so you'll want to watch young children and dogs near the boundary. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. No smoking inside. Arrive after 4pm; departures are before 10am.
