About Airport Inn Gatwick

Walk into a room at Airport Inn Gatwick and you'll find straightforward, no-fuss comfort: an en-suite bathroom, free WiFi and drinks in the room, with family rooms available for those travelling in a group. Across the 125 rooms, the focus is on practicality rather than frills, which suits guests who need a reliable base before or after a flight.

Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar on site, along with breakfast service, so there's no need to head out before an early start. A lift makes moving between floors easy, and luggage storage is useful for anyone with an odd gap between checkout and a flight. Airport parking or transfer options are available, though on-site parking is chargeable. Pets are welcome, too.

The hotel sits near Longbridge Roundabout in Horley, within reach of Gatwick Aviation Museum and the gardens and lakes of Tilgate Park, and there are pubs, restaurants and other eateries nearby for evenings when guests prefer to venture out. It's a functional choice for Gatwick travellers who want convenience over character.

I was drawn to this hotel by the recent reviews, but since it hasn't been open to the public for several years, I'm puzzled by the number of new 4- and 5-star ratings.

Our flight was very early in the morning and we had to spend the night at the airport Hotel. After a lot of research, this one still came up as the most cost effective. Food was reasonable as well. Most importantly we had help with the airport shuttle service at no extra cost, which is a huge relief. Rooms were spacious and despite the racket outside, we did sleep well. Staff were courteous and helpful. Will definitely recommend.

I stayed here when my flight was cancelled. It was a clean room however it did smell a bit funny. The double room was a bit smaller than other hotel rooms but I didn't mind as it was only for somewhere to crash. There is a petrol station right next door which is good for nibbles or toiletries. The hotel has some picnic benches and tables outside which was nice. The airport shuttle bus stops frequently at the front door which is really handy.

Check-in staff was warm and very helpful. Check-out, not so much. Few amenities, excluding toothpaste and a blow dryer. The bar looked welcoming and offered a variety of choices, though I did not patronize it. Restaurant food was mediocre. The room was a minimally comfortable but clean place to rest for an emergency stay.
