We booked Armadale Guest House through Booking.com, the next day the owner contacted me and told me he was moving me to another hotel. Not asking but telling me. I contacted Booking.com regarding this. Booking.com sorted it out. A few days later 25th March 2026 we arrived to no parking available outside the guest house or even in the street. The Armadale Guest House is on a street with Permit Parking only and double yellow lines.. even though the Booking.com says street parking Availability. I contacted the owner to ask where can we park? His advice was Park at a different Hotel at number 29... omg! Here we go again!! No parking was available at hotel at number 29 all was full... so we couldn't park anywhere, & all surrounding streets were the same permit holders parking only or double yellow lines nearest paying carpark was ¼ mile away. Read all review platforms before booking don't just take my word!! WE DIDN'T STAY!!! We found another hotel about 1½ mile away with a similar situation regarding parking....But this hotel gave you a highland council parking permit to put on your dashboard so you could park right outside the hotel on the street at all times!!! Now that's the way to do it...

Very happy with my stay here. Great location, clean rooms, towels and bedding. Nice ambience with character. The price for me was very reasonable. The location was perfect, and a quick walk into the town center. The caretaker was extremely friendly and took great care of us. I disagree with a previous review about needing a microscope to see the smoked salmon with breakfast, I thought the amount was perfect, nice light breakfast with tons of options to add to your meal. I don’t understand people needing giant heaping plates of food. After staying in an expensive dump in Edinburgh, the Armadale was a refreshing treat that cheered me up to be honest. I’d highly recommend it to any of my friends or family.

We stayed there for two days. Self Chek in and checkout. Room heaters wad very bad. Many a times it stopped during night. Poor warming. Otherwise everything was fine. Very near to railway station and the business places.
