About An Taigh Mor

A full Scottish breakfast is the highlight of any stay at An Taigh Mor, served each morning with views out towards the sea. The B&B keeps things plain and functional rather than plush, with en-suite rooms that are simply furnished but comfortable, some offering sea views and others looking out towards the mountains. Air conditioning, free WiFi and drinks in the room are all part of the setup, and accessible rooms are available for those who need them.

Outside, there's a garden to sit in, free on-site parking, and 24 hour reception for guests coming and going at odd hours. Pets are welcome, so this is a straightforward option for those travelling with a dog. A pub, restaurant and other eateries are all nearby, useful given the B&B's own focus is breakfast rather than evening meals.

The setting on the Isle of Eriskay, within Isle of South Uist, suits anyone keen on fishing or simply exploring this remote corner of the Outer Hebrides. Entertainment nearby adds a bit more choice for evenings, but the appeal here is really the quiet, coastal location and the chance to wake up to an unhurried breakfast and open sea views.

We had an absolutely unbeatable B & B experience, more like a five star hotel. The amazing hosts treated us like family. Spacious, top quality decor and breakfast, right down to the artistic marmalade spoons. All this and a stunning location. Thank you Bill and Maggie.

My wife and I had been in Eriskay several times before but only to travel through; on this trip to the Outer Hebrides we wanted to actually stay. We couldn't have picked a better place than An Taigh Mor. The house itself and the location are both amazing. The view from our bedroom window was fantastic. In addition you are within easy walking distance to Am Politician, the Eriskay shop and Prince Charlie's beach. Bill and Maggie are superb hosts and we had a lovely time interacting with them. Their breakfasts are superb! We absolutely will try to return in the future

Just had three nights the hospitality is out of this world, accommodation excellent. The choice and quality of the breakfast is outstanding and is excellent local food, beating any five star hotel. Maggie and Bill make the place with their laid back attitude and welcoming nature 👍
