About Kilbride Campsite

Kilbride Campsite sits on South Uist in the Outer Hebrides, offering a straightforward, year-round base for exploring these remote Atlantic islands. The site provides electric hook-ups, showers, toilets and drinking water, plus WiFi – a genuine bonus when you're this far off the beaten track. Dogs are welcome, making it a practical choice for those travelling with four-legged companions.

The location puts you within easy reach of South Uist's machair wildflower meadows, white-sand beaches and quiet hill lochs. While facilities are functional rather than fancy, and the site can feel a touch basic compared to more polished mainland options, it serves its purpose well for campers who value access to the Hebrides' wild landscapes over campsite comforts.

One night stay on my way north. Lovely wee site. Good facilities block in terms of washing up, toilets and showers. Facilities available for washing and drying clothes which I didn't need to use. Nice walk nearby both on the beach and up the hill a little way. As with everywhere on this trip, the views are stunning. Check-in was initially over the phone but the host appeared in persion very quickly and was very friendly and welcoming. The wee cafe looked nice but I can't comment as I didn't use it.

Stayed here for a night while pottering up the Uists by bicycle. It was as expected and the owner helped site our tent with as much wind shelter as possible. The campers toilets and kitchen were clean. There was everything we needed for a 1-night stay, but compared to some other campsites on the islands there is potential for some updating of facilities. The cafe at the front of the site served a nice coffee the morning we left.

Friendly greeting from owner. Nice flat site with good sized, level pitches. Lovely views out to sea. Good facilities block. Showers and washing up with very hot water. Spotlessly clean. Good kitchen area to dry out. Good laundry facilities. Cafe was closed due to lack of staff. 5 mins to Eriskey village which has a well supplied shop and a pub, and the ferry to Barra. Definitely be back to stay longer.

This is a lovely little site. One of our favourites on our recent Outer Hebrides camper van tour. Great facilities and it’s across the road from a stunning beach. Cafe on site and a coastal walk to a pub. It was the perfect location for exploring South Uist and is also a handy stopover if you're catching ferry to or from Barra.
