Englefield

Isle of Wight

View on Google Maps

Bonchurch sits on the eastern fringe of Ventnor, where the village slopes down from St Boniface Down to meet the sea. Englefield occupies this coastal setting with a terrace facing the water and a sloping garden behind that reaches towards open downland. The village itself is quiet—a wildlife pond edged with trees, an 11th-century church, and a local pub provide the main focal points. The shoreline offers shingle and sand with rock pools, plus a level footpath towards Ventnor's harbour for those who want to walk further.

The property is a three-bedroom chalet across two floors. Downstairs holds a living room with television and DVD player, a separate dining room, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, a utility room with laundry appliances, a sunroom with bay windows, and a bedroom with a double bed. Upstairs is a second double bedroom with its own television and a third bedroom with two single beds. Two bathrooms serve the property—one with a bath and shower, the other a separate toilet. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are all provided. One car can park on site. The property is non-smoking.

The garden is enclosed and furnished, though there are seven steps leading down into it. A travel cot and highchair are available if needed. This arrangement suits families or groups of up to six wanting to base themselves in one place—close enough to explore Ventnor if the mood takes, far enough out to have genuine quiet.
