What visitors say
Beautiful place to visit. We entered at the top end and intended to go back up via the beach lift but that was out of order so we went back in and returned through the chine. My husband didn't think he would be able to do the return journey but it really wasn't that bad and it was just as enjoyable from the other prospective. Ticket allows you to re-enter during 7 days so many people go back in the evening to see it lit up after dark. I would recommend it as a lovely place to see and experience

Visited quite a few times before. It's still a really lovely place to just walk and totally unwind. The animals have gone and they now have more information about the history of the Chine. Please remember it's a naturally carved ravine out of the cliffs that's taken over 10000 years, so it's not full of 'theming'. Take it for what it is. Nice café and shop Lovely staff.

This is a lovely place to visit for some beautiful views and scenery, local history and a break from the sunshine if you need it! Very dog friendly, even on a hot day as 95% is full shade. Blue light discount is offered. There are a lot of steep steps so you need to be fit and mobile, or have plenty of time to take breaks on the various benches along the way. We went in the day and you can return for free for 7 days, so we are planning to return after dark when it's all lit up.

Just back from a warm few days on the outskirts of Shanklin, and our tickets provided us with a cooling shady walk up and down the Chine each day. Everyone we met there was so calm and relaxed, responding to the constant sound of running water, the damp scent of green plants and the beautiful views inside and out. The staff are excellent, particularly those in the kiosks at the top and the bottom, who are extremely knowledgeable and eager to share information and advice. The gentleman in charge of the toilet area was very diligent and keen to keep it clean and well stocked. The whole place just provides a thoroughly lovely experience. Thank you to all concerned.
