Kids Love Yurts - Woodpecker

Woodpecker is a single-bedroom yurt at Burnt House Farm, where five people can sleep under canvas without sacrificing comfort. One double bed, two bunks and a pull-out single mean flexible arrangements for families; the en-suite shower and toilet are inside, and a wood-burning stove keeps things warm through the year. The open-plan living space has a kitchenette for cooking, and electricity is included in the price.

Outside, a garden with furniture and a barbecue makes for evening meals and star-gazing. There's a children's play area on site and private parking for one car. The yurt sits in farmland where pheasants, bats and red squirrels are often spotted, and owls can be heard at dusk. The peaceful setting suits families wanting to experience glamping; this is not the place for loud adult groups. The Isle of Wight's beaches are a short drive away, and Newport town is five minutes by car. Check-in is after 4pm and departure before 10:30am.
