Isle of Wight

The Hamstead Heritage Coast curves around this part of the Isle of Wight with Thorness Bay Beach nearby. Stable Cottage sits on a working farm close to Cowes, a quiet base for exploring the island's coastal paths, cycling routes and villages. A pub lies within a mile.
The cottage is yours alone—one double bedroom, shower room, and a combined living and dining space that opens onto a small garden with decked seating. The kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer. Heating and hot water are included, along with bed linen and towels. One car can park on site. Dogs stay free of charge.
This is a ground-floor property without stairs, compact and straightforward rather than grand. No smoking inside. Children are not accommodated.

Lovely place, nice and quiet except for the odd machines rolling through, as it is a working farm. Lovely hosts who ask how you're getting on and would jump at the chance to help with anything you need. The 3-person room fits 3 well, but it would be perfect for 2. Lots of freedom to explore the area, easy and nearby beach access, but it's not suitable for wheelchairs since you have to walk across the field. The road to get in is a bit precarious. Otherwise, a 10/10 spot for a quiet couple or small family of 3.

It's absolutely perfect for a tranquil getaway. The beach is a relatively short walk across a field and through a gate. It's an unspoilt haven for birds and wildlife. It is a working farm, so you will see alsorts. There's a lovely pond on site, which helps with the wildlife in the area. Nigel and Mary are so friendly and really helpful. The accommodation is disabled , but you must have someone with you. This is a stipulation of the owners. The shower room is fantastic. The bed was super comfortable. Plenty of options for seating in the living room. The kitchen has everything you need for self-catering. The only downside was that my hubby had difficulty in the kitchen. The accommodation is in old outbuildings of the farm which have been beautifully changed into cottages. When the cottages were built, in the 90s, the planning permission was such that the footprint had to be maintained, that's why the kitchen in our cottage was small. The cottage we stayed in is the smallest.

Loved my stay there, the kids were elated. The cottage was clean and equipped with everything to make your stay pleasant. The hosts were so kind and welcoming, so generous to share these wonderful views with their guests. I cannot wait to go back. I highly recommend it if you need a break. Buy careful, you might never want to leave 😊

It was our first time to visit Isle of Wight and it is such an amazing place. The accommodation called Stable Cottages was value for money as we stayed for nearly a week. We love the cottage because it was very clean, bigger than the usual cottages we stayed in the past, breathtaking sea view and it has the important appliances we need as a family: kitchen with cooker, microwave, oven, fridge. They also have ironing board + iron, vacuum cleaner and many more things. The hosts Nigel and Mary were very friendly and accommodating. They asked us if we wanted to feed the ponies and it was such a delight to see my children feeding their ponies called 'Hovies" and 'Tiptoe". My children also saw the herd of cows. Nigel has also asked if my children would like to drive the farm tractor and what an amazing experience for my children. There is also a small pond and it has so many carps, very calming and tranquil place. Their farm is so big and we enjoyed walking down to the beach. We would like to thank Mary and Nigel for our amazing experience. I highly recommend this place.
