About Hewitts Restaurant & Rooms
Lugley Street in Newport sets the scene for Hewitts Restaurant & Rooms, a small hotel built around its own dining room in the heart of the Isle of Wight's county town. With just six rooms, it has the feel of a place run on personal attention rather than scale, and its position in town puts pubs, bars and other restaurants within easy reach.
Each room comes with an en-suite bathroom and the option of drinks brought up on request, while breakfast is served on site and the restaurant and bar operate as the heart of the property. A garden offers a spot to sit outside, and the hotel also functions as a wedding venue, with 24 hour reception on hand throughout a stay.
Beyond the front door, Newport's surroundings open up further options: golf and fishing nearby for those wanting to get outdoors, watersports for the more active, and entertainment close by for evenings out. It makes a practical base for exploring the island's countryside and coast alike.
