About Claremont House Keswick
A generous breakfast is the highlight at Claremont House Keswick, with plentiful cooked plates that set guests up well for a day on the fells. The B&B sits on Chestnut Hill in Keswick, within the Lake District, and the team on reception are known for sharing practical local tips on walking routes and things to do nearby.
Rooms are en-suite and come with drinks-making facilities, family rooms are available, and several look out over mountain views. There's a garden to sit in, free WiFi throughout, and staff on hand around the clock. A bus stop close by makes it easy to head out without a car, though free on-site parking is also provided for those driving up.
Beyond breakfast, there's no restaurant on site, but pubs, restaurants and eateries are all within easy reach, along with a golf course, entertainment and open walking country on the doorstep. It suits guests who want comfortable, well-located base for exploring Keswick and the surrounding fells, rather than a destination in itself.

We had a fab 2 night stay in June. Sarah is an excellent host, she made us feel very welcome. Our room "Skiddaw" had fantastic views, spacious & comfortable. Sarah's cooked breakfast set us up for the day & lovely homemade bread rolls. Great location & a real plus being able to park the car & even bigger plus is the bus stop at the end of the drive. The 555 takes you all over, a great way to plan your day trips. Hopefully we'll have chance to stay again soon.

We stayed in the Nook, a lovely little cottage attached to Claremont House, for 2 nights Friday and Saturday just gone. It is a lovely cosy little place. We felt really welcome and were provided with bread, milk, home made scones and preserves. The host was welcoming and friendly. It's an easy walk downhill into Keswick, a bit steep coming back but good exercise after a nice meal in town. There is a bus stop nearby and we took a trip to Windermere and back, fabulous views. We would definitely go back again.

Just back from a couple of days in Keswick. Sarah made us very welcome and we booked into Skiddaw - a room with great views over various fells and the town. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped and we both slept soundly in spite of the guest house being on the A591. As others have pointed out there is quite a steep hill so although it’s downhill into town it is a hard slog uphill but with a bus stop right next to the house we were able to avoid walking back. Note that buses are only one (or two) an hour and only run until 9:25 pm in summer, earlier in winter. The breakfast provided was delicious and plentiful - sets you up for whatever activities you are up to. You use a choice card to order the night before and Sarah has it ready for you. Sarah is a real fount of local knowledge - telling you where you can park or advising taking the bus instead of driving. We loved our stay here and hope to return soon.
