About Castlerigg Farm Camping and Caravan Site
Castlerigg Hall occupies a hillside pitch a mile and a half from Keswick with sweeping views over Derwentwater, Skiddaw and the Newlands fells—sunsets here are particularly memorable. This well-established family park offers touring pitches, tent camping, static caravans and a handful of glamping pods, giving it more choice than most sites in the immediate area. An adults-only touring field caters for those after peace and quiet, while family zones buzz during school holidays.
Facilities are well maintained: modern heated shower blocks, a small shop stocking essentials and local produce, laundry and patchy wifi. A footpath drops directly into Keswick in 25 minutes, handy for the shops, pubs and lakeshore. The elevated position means some exposure to wind and weather, but the reward is those long Lakeland views. Dogs are welcome, and the site runs a long season from spring through early winter, making it a solid base for both peak-summer families and quieter autumn walking trips.

What visitors say
The site is nice with fantastic views when you can see them. A very open field so when the weather isn’t great you know it. Facilities are good but not overly a fan of the push button taps, a shelf in the shower cubicle would be handy also. Hairdryers at an extra charge. Staff are friendly and a nice little shop. Bus stop just at the bottom of the hill which was a nice treat after a long day of walking catching the bus back from Keswick. Also on a slope so bare this is mind as we definitely could feel this when in the tent..

This is a fabulous campsite. Perched high on the hill overlooking Keswick with views to die for. The site is so clean, tidy, immaculate toilets and showers, and has 80 fully serviced wide pitches with electric and water at each pitch. The site is being updated so at the time we stayed some of the electric pitches hadn’t been activated. Good bus connection into Keswick and the site had a small shop for essentials. The staff are so friendly and helpful too. Definitely recommend this place it is first class.

Sat on pitch 11 looking out at the ever changing scenery. Facilities clean, warm and tidy. Plenty of hot water in the showers. Great pot wash area. Pitches are well spaced and not overlooked by neighbours. Staff friendly and helpful. They clearly work hard behind the scenes to keep everything immaculate. Like little magic fairies. Perfect for local walks and exploring the area. We will absolutely return . Thank you for a perfect two days 💕

They have obviously spent a lot of money and effort on this site. Immaculate campsite and facilities. I can’t begin to describe the stunning 360 degree views. We cycled into Keswick- along the old railway- then back via the stone circle ( hills alert !) but magnificent none the less. Highly recommended and we will be back! Loved the quiet night policy too.
