River Meadow Retreat

Downham Market sits in the Norfolk countryside, where the big skies and open landscape draw people looking to slow down. River Meadow Retreat is a contemporary lodging on the edge of a working farm, built for guests who want modern comfort without sacrificing peace and quiet. It's a single bedroom with one bathroom, sleeping up to four on a double bed and a sofa bed in the open-plan living area.

Everything happens on the ground floor. The kitchen is fitted for proper cooking—electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge and coffee machine—so you can prepare proper meals or keep things simple. French doors lead from the dining and living space straight onto decking that wraps around the property, furnished with seating and a barbecue. At the back, a patio and pergola are set up for outdoor meals and sitting out under the sky. The bedroom has its own doors to the patio too, useful for morning tea in the air. The shower room is modern and heated towels come as standard. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included; a welcome pack arrives when you do.

Outside the fenced grounds there's a fire pit and cycle storage, plus private parking for two cars. The hot tub seats four and sits privately on the property. One dog is welcome at no extra cost, provided it stays within the fenced areas. Smoking is not permitted inside.
