About DoubleTree by Hilton London Kingston Upon Thames

The Bentall Centre's shops, the River Thames towpath and Kingston's railway station are all within walking distance of DoubleTree by Hilton London Kingston Upon Thames, making it a practical base for exploring south west London or heading further afield by train. Pubs, bars and restaurants nearby mean there is plenty to do once the shopping bags are put down.

The hotel itself has 146 rooms across seven floors, all air-conditioned and en-suite, with family and accessible options and drinks available in room. A restaurant and bar serve breakfast and evening meals, including gyros that guests particularly rate, and there is a gym, business and meeting facilities, and a bridal suite for weddings. Room service, laundry, concierge and luggage storage are all on hand, and pets are welcome.

Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and the rooms are well finished, with good showers a recurring plus point. Do note there is no on-site parking, and some guests have mentioned nearby construction causing disruption, so it is worth checking current conditions before booking if noise is a concern.

The welcome at reception was a very positive beginning to my stay. The room was comfortable but a few things could improve. The decor was ok if a bit tired, but the carpet was to me quite visually displeasing - I think designed to hide marks and stains. Shower ok and I liked the fact that there is body lotion not just basic shower gel and shampoo/conditioner. As with a lot of hotels the duvet is tucked in so much that you need to pull it out completely if you want to feel cosy in bed and want it to come above your shoulders - also it was ok for just one person but there was very little overhang each side if there were two people - in other words, the duvet in my opinion wasn't big enough. Also no drawer space just a bit of shelving in the wardrobe and basic cupboard. There was no fridge and I asked about this at reception, told them never mind, but they had brought one into the room whilst I was out - so very impressed. The bar/restaurant area was comfortable with efficient service and it was good they had two sizes of pizza as I have a small appetite. There wasn't adequate lighting in the room - no main light and even if you put all the lamps on, it was still not bright enough once it was evening and curtains drawn. One huge positive is the location - max three minutes' walk from the entrance to Fenwick/The Bentall Centre, and about seven minutes' walk to the Kingston Bridge where there are several restaurants along the river path. Special thanks to Jan and Naz on reception who were extremely friendly, and helped me with my luggage. Will definitely stay there again if I am in the area.

Great hotel in really handy location. Just behind the Bentall centre and a short walk into Kingston town centre. Staff were great, very friendly, attentive and welcoming. Public areas are really attractive, the bar and lounge especially. The rooms are starting to show signs of wear and tear though, with some chipped paintwork and missing grouting in the shower room. Great shower though! We didn't have breakfast here as lots of options in the town. Will definitely visit again!

Nice location in the Kingston upon Thames close to station, shopping centre and restaurants. The room was spacious. Although overall experience was satisfactory, the room floor would benefit if it was intensively vacuum cleaned.

Dear Rahul: My wife and I would like to thank you for the anniversary surprise that you arranged for us. The staff was very helpful and kind, which made our stay very memorable. We also enjoyed the wine and my wife was very touched by the card. Please pass on our appreciation to your team for making our stay at the Hilton very special. Keep up the great work, Rahul! Sincerely, Zeffie
