Wennington sits in the Lune Valley with views across open fields, and The Barbon is positioned to take them in. This is a whole property rental for groups or large families, sleeping 10 across four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Everything happens on the ground floor: an open-plan living and kitchen space with a dining table for ten, leather sofas, and French doors onto a patio; a master with kingsize and two cabin beds; a second kingsize with ensuite; a third kingsize with ensuite; and a fourth with two single beds. The kitchen has a full electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. Wi-Fi and heating are included, as are bed linen and towels.
Outside, a stone patio looks onto the fields. There's a private hot tub for eight, a firepit, barbecue and garden furniture. On-site parking fits four cars. The property is non-smoking. Just Play Padel is nearby if you want to book court time; the owners can arrange this. A children's play area is shared with other properties on the site. Transport links to Lancaster and Kirkby Lonsdale are close by.

A disappointing stay. Heating is still a problem, we have intermittent heating from 16oc to 25oc. (based on a review from 2 years ago). We have no hot water to be able to shower. The property is beginning to look rundown. Doorframes screwed back on, plaster board fixings in view. Ian (manager) calling in a hour, still not here after an hour and 30. Fittings on the hot tub broken. Temp varies between 37oC and 40 oC. Window frame not fixed into the wall. Fingers able to go behind plug sockets. Location on a field with a total of 4 lodges and a small park. Nothing else, views limited.

Stayed here at the end of July for 10 nights. Great lodge with a lovely hot tub and attached play area. The lodge itself is spacious and well equipped with bbq and fire pit and large screen tv. Ian is also very helpful if you need anything and it is well positioned for exploring the lake district, Yorkshire dales and Lancaster.

Perfect getaway for 5 days in beautiful surroundings!! Thank you for a wonderful stay, your lodges are like home away from home, wonderfully decorated and loved the little touches; the hot tubs were amazing too!! It felt like a private retreat ♥️ Highly recommend a stay here especially if you have children too; the site has a coded gate from the main road, lovely little park infront of the lodges and lodging neighbours were very friendly !!

Just returned from a weeks holiday at Box Tree. We had 2 lodges and couldn’t speak more highly of them. Kids loved the hot tubs, park and morning feeding of the horses. All in all it was a fantastic break and Ian couldn’t have been more helpful. The location is pretty rural, but great pub within a 15 minute walk and the nearest town (2.5 miles) had everything you could want.
