Carr House

Families and groups of up to eight will find Carr House works well as a base. The listed building sits near Harewood House, with the Bothy Teahouse close by, and three bedrooms let you spread out—the master takes a superking, the second bedroom a kingsize (convertible to twins), and the third has bunk beds for children. One bathroom serves the property. You get the whole place to yourself, plus a garden with patio, barbecue and firepit, parking for two cars, and an enclosed lawn with views across the surrounding landscape.

Downstairs, the kitchen is properly fitted for cooking: electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and microwave. The living area opens onto the patio through French doors and centres on a wood burner; a 55-inch smart TV sits in the corner. The dining table seats six. Bed linen, towels and logs for the burner are included. There's a washer-dryer in an outhouse, bike storage, and an electric car charging point. One well-behaved pet is welcome. The property is non-smoking.
