About The Shankly Hotel

The Shankly Hotel is built around the life of Bill Shankly, the Scot who managed Liverpool FC from 1959 to 1974 and turned a second-division club into a European force. The hotel occupies the former Millennium House on Victoria Street, in the middle of the commercial district, and displays a large collection of memorabilia loaned by the Shankly family, including trophies, letters, shirts and the manager's own possessions. Whether that appeals depends entirely on your relationship with football; the collection is genuine rather than decorative.

Rooms range from standard doubles up to substantial themed suites, several with hot tubs, and the larger units are aimed squarely at groups and celebrations. Standards are consistently reported as spacious and clean, and the location score is among the highest in the city. Free wi-fi runs throughout and there is a restaurant and bar on site, with a rooftop terrace that opens in warmer months and takes in a good sweep of the city.

The hotel is well known for its events programme, running themed nights, live entertainment and family activities through the year, and it handles a great many weddings and parties. This is worth understanding before booking: it is a lively hotel with function business alongside its room guests, not a quiet retreat, and guests looking for calm should consider one of the alternatives on this list.

Position is excellent. The Royal Court Theatre is 100 metres away, Liverpool ONE and the Cavern Quarter are both within five minutes on foot, and Lime Street station is a ten-minute walk. Note that a small per-room local charge is collected at the property, in line with the Liverpool visitor levy introduced across participating city-centre hotels.

Went to a Robbie Williams tribute night. Had an absolutely fantastic time. Brilliant atmosphere. "Robbie" was very good and definitely entertained us. Place is spotless. Food was included in our ticket and what was served was lovely. Fresh and tasty. Thanks to the staff and the DJ who helped us celebrate my friends birthday, even when I think we did overstay our welcome. Prices of drink were pretty standard.

Came for a hen weekend. From start to finish it was a fab experience. The rooms were great, a little wear and tear and our bathroom flooded a little but overall, lovely big air conditioned room with beautiful decor and comfy beds. We had a kitchenette with a fridge. We had the hen package which included breakfast which was decent and plentiful. Evening meal, bottomless brunch and cocktail making class. Amazing value, we really enjoyed it all! Staff were so friendly even under pressure. The bottemless brunch was so much fun. It was noisy at night but we were part of it lol. Thanks for a memorable weekend ❤️

Wow!! Stayed at the Shankly (group of 7) presidential suit, for a 40th Birthday weekend. The location is brilliant, super close to the station and all amenities within walking distance. The staff are honestly outstanding, really cheerful, happy to help and super friendly, I cannot rate the entire team highly enough. Attended the samba bottomless afternoon tea and as an avid bottomless brunch group of girlies, we have rated this one of the best brunches we have been to. Food was lovely, very tasty and plenty of it. Sophie who served us was on top form, kept our glasses full and was super polite and friendly. Samba dancers 10/10 really enthusiastic, fun and involving, once the alcohol and dancers came out, I don’t think one bum was on a seat. The roof top bar was one of our favourites, very chill but great music and excellent staff. Overall I would highly recommend everything about the Shankly hotel and cannot wait to return for another girls weekend in the future.

Second return to this hotel and it did not disappoint. Swift check in and a lovely clean room. Lovely atmosphere and vibe throughout the hotel. Big special thank you to the fairy god mothers who assist with breakfast- great team nothing too much trouble. Endless refill of tea or coffee and always manage to have a little chat with every table despite being busy. Those ladies are a credit to the hotel team.
