About Throstles Nest Hotel

Throstles Nest Hotel is a good match for budget-minded visitors who want somewhere straightforward to sleep near Liverpool, rather than a destination in itself. With 15 rooms on Scotland Road in Kirkdale, it works well for those travelling by car, thanks to free on-site parking, or anyone prioritising value over extras.

Rooms are simple, and most come with an en suite bathroom, free WiFi and air conditioning. A full English breakfast is included, and there's a restaurant and bar on site for guests who'd rather not venture out in the evening, plus a garden for some outdoor space.

The surrounding area has its own pubs, bars and restaurants nearby, along with entertainment options, making it easy enough to head out and explore once you're settled in. It's a practical choice for a short, unfussy stay in Liverpool.

I had a wonderful stay at Throstles Nest Hotel. The staff is incredibly kind .The hotel has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is located just a 20-minute walk from Liverpool city centre. Not luxury, but definitely worth it for the hospitality and atmosphere. Highly recommended

Excellent price point, close to town on public transport, and very friendly staff. The room could've done with a deep clean as it was very dusty and generally grubby.

I stayed here for just one night for work, and overall, I feel it was good value and met my expectations. The price was pretty excellent, it cost less than £40 for a double room even after booking it on the day. The location is good, I was able to get to this hotel in just 10 minutes on the bus from the city Centre. The website seems to lack important information, so I’ve included a photo of things you would want to know like what time the Reception is open. On the day of the booking, I tried calling the Reception number several times to explain that I was going to arrive late but they wouldn’t answer. I explained to the receptionist that I tried ringing them several times, but they weren’t apologetic at all. I think the room I stayed in, the bathroom needs some work. I think the en-suite used to struggle with ventilation because the shower head was rusty and there was a bit of rust on the ceiling. However, the shower was very powerful and temperature control was good.

I've no idea what a throstle is, but I wouldn't let one nest here. Horrible looking from the outside and gets worse when you hit reception. Then you get to the room, shared toilet is a highlight. Checked in and checked out a few minutes later, and I've stayed in a lot of hostels. Honestly, save yourself the experience, book a decent hotel nearby, there are plenty, just don't be fooled by this place.
