Abbey Grange Campsite

Extremely disappointing campsite and poor value for money. The facilities were nowhere near the standard you’d expect for the price charged. The toilets were essentially housed in a container and were consistently filthy throughout our stay. Amenities were very limited and badly maintained. The washing-up area consisted of a single sink, which was unkempt and unpleasant to use. Food waste was left lying around in a poor state, creating an unhygienic environment and giving the impression that basic upkeep was not a priority. What made matters worse was the management’s apparent lack of concern for guests’ experience. One camper was allowed to drive a quad bike around the site for most of the day, repeatedly circling close to people’s tents. The constant noise and disturbance completely undermined any chance of enjoying a peaceful camping trip. Overall, this campsite felt vastly overpriced for the facilities and level of service provided. The impression we were left with was that once they had taken your money, there was very little interest in ensuring guests actually received a decent experience. I would not return and would not recommend it to others.

Wow, what an experience, not in a good way either. The old lady behind the bar is rude, very very rude. Told me I was lying when I said how long is our food going to be, its been an hour since we ordered, I was lying yes, it had actually been an hour and 9 minutes. The grass for the pitches was extremely long, and the cabin for the shower block was ........... a ran down cabin with showers and toilets in, that had prob been removed there from a building site. The children's park needs a good tidy and repaint, stones and broken bricks at bottom of slide. Clearly they are just money grabbers who dont really care about customer satisfaction

I won’t be back!!!!! Over priced to say the least for the amenities you get, 4 run down showers to facilitate 2 camping fields, 1 stand pipe for water , its like going back 40 years. Arrived at the reception in the bar to be greeted by a very unfriendly young woman with absolutely no manners, I’d go as far as to say ignorant. They want to charge you for everything they can, £10 extra for a porch awning, £3 for a dog, in total we spent £83 for 2 nights, which I dot mind paying if your getting something back for it, half the place looks like a junk yard, no one in the bar can give you a smile or a pleasantry, hospitality is not for theses people, I’m sure they only make their money on the back of other campsites being full, I only booked because Abbey Farm was full. 0/10 from me and I’m not in the habit of writing bad reviews and putting places down. The owners need to take a good look at themselves, the end.

WARNING ABOUT THIS PLACE I’ll start by saying the food served at the hotel is top quality — very tasty and definitely worth the money. However, during our visit we quickly noticed the complete lack of management across the site itself. There appears to be no proper rules being enforced, and nobody ensuring guests behave respectfully. The staff also looked like they had the weight of the world on their shoulders and could come across a little snappy at times, although that may simply be due to being understaffed and under pressure. The toilet facilities seriously need updating as well, as they are far from the best. Now onto the main issue… Don’t come here if: You’re respectful and considerate of other people You’re a family with children You actually have a decent personality Do come here if: You couldn’t care less about anyone around you You’re the type of person who never knows when to shut up You enjoy listening to drunk idiots blasting horns and revving clapped-out vans like teenage boy racers We should’ve read the reviews first, but we like to give places a fair chance. We were greeted by a younger lady and an older lady who seemed pleasant enough initially, although some of the strange “banter” quickly came across as ignorance rather than friendliness. We found our pitch and at first thought everything seemed fine… until 10pm hit. Suddenly several idiots decided it was time for screaming, shouting, and acting like children. One woman was literally screaming “chase me, chase me” like a toddler in a playground. Another guy, clearly off his head, repeatedly revved his van engine loud enough to make children cry. Then came the drunken singing from what sounded like a Temu version of an overrated pop star. There are clearly no rules being enforced and no proper management presence on site once the evening starts. Without question, with all that said we did enjoy our time, it was just the evening issues. Unfortunately, we will never return.
