About Britannia Inn

Britannia Inn suits travellers after a no-fuss base for exploring the hills around Llangollen rather than a grand hotel experience. Set on the Horseshoe Pass in Denbighshire, it has just six rooms, making it a quiet option for walkers, cyclists or anyone passing through on a road trip rather than large groups or events.

Rooms are en-suite with free WiFi, and a cooked breakfast is included each morning. Downstairs there are two lounge/bar areas plus outdoor seating, along with a restaurant for evening meals. The property also has a gym, an indoor swimming pool and a spa/sauna, alongside more practical extras such as a lift, luggage storage, meeting rooms and free on-site parking. Pets are welcome, and the inn also hosts weddings.

The surrounding area is well suited to cycling and walking, with the National White Water Centre nearby as a point of interest, and pubs, restaurants and entertainment within easy reach. Ruabon lies a short drive away for those wanting to explore further afield. It's a straightforward, well-equipped stop for anyone building a trip around the outdoors rather than the accommodation itself.

What a wonderful pub, traditional pub grub. The host is outstanding, her humor banter and quirks are entertaining. I recommend the Sunday roasts! My husband always has the pie.

Stopped here for food recently, chips were burnt on the outside to a crisp and uncooked on the inside, fish was acceptable. I was in a hurry so did not complain until the plate was collected (had already waited a long while for my food) The response was " didn't anybody ask you if all was in order?" well - they did not --- I will not be eating there again.

I stayed on my own here for just one night whilst looking at property in the area. A perfect place to stay, just far enough out of town to be peaceful whilst still being very convenient. Comfy bed in a beautriful light, clean room. I had a glorious hot soaking bath before a hearty meal. The general style of the inn is not particularly modern but perfectly clean and very welcoming. It has a lovely outside area infront, to sit with a drink looking out across the hills. The homemade Steak and Ale Pie, made with hot water crust pastry was perfect and came with a good sized jug of gravy! I had wondered whether I'd have room for a pudding because they sounded mouthwatering, but I didn't manage one, so I'll just have to go back! The cooked breakfast was also great and I particularly enjoyed the homemade marmalade. The landlady, Anne, and her staff are fantastic! Thank you
