About Abbey Farm Caravan and Camping
Abbey Farm sits in open countryside near Rhuddlan, where the Vale of Clwyd meets the coast, offering pitches with views towards the Clwydian Range. Electric grass touring pitches accommodate caravans and tents, and the site welcomes dogs year-round, making it a solid choice for walkers exploring the nearby hills or the coastal path. Facilities include a toilet block with showers, washing-up area, and recycling, plus communal fridge and freezer access. The farm setting keeps things peaceful, though some visitors note the site can feel a little dated in places.
Rhuddlan's medieval castle is a short drive, as is the seaside at Rhyl, while Denbigh and St Asaph are both within easy reach for market days or cathedral visits. The area suits cyclists and walkers, with routes into the Clwydian hills and along quieter valley lanes. A nearby bar and shop add convenience, and the site's central position between coast and country means you can split days between beach trips and hill walks without covering huge distances.

What visitors say
Recently camped in Abbey farm Llangollen. Pretty site with small river running at edge where the children were enjoying cooling off under the trees in hot weather. Showers and toilets were adequate. Lovely bistro and friendly staff on site, open thursday to sunday school time and weekly in school holidays. Very relaxed site and everyone were friendly, felt safe as barrier to lower field next to Abbey. Also has indoor children area and dog friendly with dogs kept on leads at all times. Lovely walks to llangollen along canal. Spoke to a few people who had cycled in to llangollen. We had a taxi which cost 10pound each way. Enjoyed our stay.

Great amenities, great selection of snacks in the vending machines, including a great milk vending machine from Abbey farm. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Toilets & shower facilities are more than adequate, sadly other guests do not always have the best hygiene skills. Perfect location, short walk along the canal into Llangollen. Horseshoe falls is a must visit too. The Abbey ruins itself is a perfect backdrop and worth a look around.

The pods are getting abit tired looking and in need of some work. I appreciate its winter so this might very well be in the pipeline in warmer/dryer weather. However there was mold within the pod and fungi growing by the door and several places around the pod roof. There is no longer any lights working within the pod or on the small decking outside. The door was difficult to open and close without slamming it, im sure the neighbours loved that when i went to the toilets in the night. The toilets/shower block is again dated and in need of modernisation but was mostly clean. The restaurant was great, service exceptional and food terrific, had a steak dinner Saturday and straight away booked the sunday lunch the following day, both wonderful meals, highly recommend. I believe the restaurant is a separate business to the campsite. The pods therfore i would give 3/5 and the restaurant 5/5. Ive veen going to the Abbey farm for more than 20years. Back when i was just tents in the two fields and a small shop onsite. Its a fantastic location and ive had many very happy memories. I wish them all the success for the 2026 season.... I will be back 🥰

A great place to stay, relaxing and friendly. Staff are very helpful. There was an incident were a member of the public thought she could spoil others holiday, very selfish. However, staff dealt with it swiftly. Iv stayed on other sites and staff haven't dealt with these type of things well. So good on you Abby farm
