About White Waters Country Hotel
Step into one of the 25 rooms at White Waters Country Hotel and the first thing many guests notice is the view: the River Dee and surrounding countryside spread out below, with the Dee Valley and Llangollen Canal nearby. Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and are furnished for comfort, giving the sense of a proper country retreat rather than a standard hotel stay. Some travellers have noted that certain extras they expected weren't provided, so it's worth checking what matters to you in advance.
Downstairs, the hotel has a restaurant and bar, along with breakfast service, free WiFi and 24 hour reception. The spa area is a particular draw, with a Roman pool and steam room offering a place to unwind after a day out. Meeting rooms and laundry service are also available, and staff are attentive throughout a stay.
Set on Berwyn Street in Llangollen, the hotel makes a convenient base for exploring the town, with golf, fishing, horse riding and entertainment all nearby, plus a good choice of pubs and restaurants close by. Free on-site parking is provided for those arriving by car.
What guests say
I’ve traveled to a lot of places over the years, but I’ve honestly never seen a property managed with this much heart. You can tell right away that this place has a beautiful vibe, but the real standout is the management. It’s rare to find someone who is actually that sincere about the property and genuinely cares about the guest experience. I had a minor issue pop up during my stay, and the way it was handled was just extraordinary—they went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. It’s hard to find that kind of service these days. I can’t recommend this place enough, and I’ll definitely be back.

This hotel accommodated a large group of us over the New Year period. The rooms were really warm and suitably furnished, the beds were comfy and linens provided. There was always hot water in the en suites, and the shower was lovely. There are some areas where the rooms may need a bit of tlc, but we found everything to be functional and exactly to our needs. The location was amazing. Lots of lovely walks. Horeshoe falls and the canal walks are a mere stones throw away and accessible by foot. There's perfect views of the steam train, river Dee, a field if Alpacas, the wonderful town, and the ruined hill fort of Dinas Bran.

Our stay at White Waters Hotel was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Getting there was easy, and parking was a breeze, which made arriving so much more relaxing. From the moment we walked in, the staff member was warm and welcoming, friendly and happy to help. The room was spotless, well-laid out, and had everything we needed. The beds were super comfortable, making it easy to get a great night's sleep. Waking up to the incredible views of the River Dee was just the cherry on top—it’s absolutely breathtaking! The hotel itself is nice, and the pool was a great place to unwind. Everything just felt effortless and enjoyable, exactly what you want from a stay like this. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for more, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
