Forest and lochshore pitches on the wooded east shore near Rowardennan
About Cashel Campsite
Cashel occupies a rare stretch of Loch Lomond's eastern shore where mature forest meets open grass and you can pitch within steps of the water. The setting delivers what many come to the Highlands for: shingle beach, westward views to the Luss hills, and a genuine choice between breezy lochside pitches that keep midges at bay and sheltered woodland bays that offer calm when a westerly blows up the water. Facilities are straightforward rather than fancy—hot showers, washing-up points, drinking water, some electric hook-ups—but they do the job for a site where the appeal is being outdoors rather than entertained.
The West Highland Way runs along the shore, forest trails thread the woods behind, and the Ben Lomond path at Rowardennan lies two miles north, so walkers and paddlers are well served. Balmaha, four miles south, has the nearest pub. Dogs are welcome on leads, and a small seasonal shop stocks essentials. Cashel suits those happy with simple infrastructure in a beautiful spot; it closes through winter.

Booked here for 4 nights... nice site and easy to find. The lady in the shop was very welcoming and informative. Beautiful location right on the Loch. We booked a premium Loch view pitch and it certainly didnt disappoint. The showers and toilets were immaculately clean. The pitches were well spaced, and the little shop sold a decent amount of supplies that you may want or may have forgotten to bring. The only down fall i would say that wouldnt amount to me giving 5 stars... is that the picnic benches were rotten and falling apart. Otherwise I couldnt fault the site or the customer service given. We had a great stay. Thankyou :)

Great location on the loch side. Friendly and accommodating as you arrive with a site map, facilities explained. Good layout means there isn't a poor pitch and all are facing the loch. Ample of toilets, showers (good a hot) and dish washing sinks available (although water was just warm on every occasion when washing up). Easily launch a kayak, canoe which we did. Privately owned and not part of the caravan and motorhome club. Resealable priced with a shop selling basics at reception. A number of lovely walks and hikes from the campsite. Recommended and would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Great spot, good facilities, super friendly staff. I had planned to stay at Milarrochy campsite just down the road, but they were not just unfriendly and unhelpful but actively hostile to hikers doing the west highland way. Grant and Belinda could not have been any more different - welcoming, helpful, and the campsite had a great atmosphere. Thanks for a great stay :)

A stunning site on the shores of Loch Lomond. Reasonable prices with a good services block. Well out of the way so it's unusually quiet, but does mean about 30 minutes of narrow windy road to get here. The only downside is midges. Bring fly repellent, or candles.
