About Loch Lomond Arms Hotel
The Loch Lomond Arms occupies a seventeenth-century coaching inn in the centre of Luss, reopened after a substantial reimagining by the Luss Estate. The estate runs to some 45,000 acres and has been held by Clan Colquhoun for centuries, and the hotel leans into that heritage in its interiors and in the guided Highland experiences it arranges for guests.
Accommodation is divided between superior suites, double and twin rooms, more traditional coaching rooms and a set of self-contained estate cottages in the village, with opening-season rates from around £265. There is a restaurant and a bar serving both residents and villagers, and the whole operation is small enough to feel personal rather than corporate.
Being in the middle of Luss rather than on the shore means you are a minute from the beach, the pier and the church, with parking on site and the A82 close enough for touring but far enough not to be heard. It suits couples and small groups who want village atmosphere and good food, and anyone interested in estate activities such as stalking, fishing or guided walking. Book early for summer weekends, as the room count is modest.

We sat down in the gorgeous map room for a drink, and were greeted by a very friendly and helpful staff. Upon asking for a whisky recommendation, Michael was keen to assist us and tell us at length about the different whiskys they had on shelf, as well as an interesting history of the establishment and the family who owns it. Spent a lovely evening here. No other Old Fashioned will be able to compare to theirs as it was phenomenal.

We went here as part of a mystery tour so could not book it. There was a number of us. we only had an hour or so, so we couldn't wait for a booking to be made. They did supply, bread, olives and chips. They didn't have some of the drinks we offered but after a little wait, they managed to get the drinks. which we were please on both counts. It's lovely seating area outside and the young waiting staff were good. The Loch Lomond Arms did well under the circumstances. Next time I would book ahead if I could. I cannot comment on cost as most people had an alcoholic drink and the bill was evenly split between us.

We came for dinner only, so I can’t comment on the accommodation. A lovely cosy pub setting with restaurant quality food. The scallop starter with celeriac puree and bacon/black pudding crumb was divine. I opted for the special for main course, mussels with chorizo and tomato. Very enjoyable and the wine menu, while not extensive, was excellent. Good service and I would recommend!

We were welcomed immediately and shown to our table. We had booked which is recommended as we saw others get turned away. The food came out very quickly and was very hot. It was all delicious. I’d recommend the haggis tatties and neeps with whisky sauce. Delicious.
