Luss Caravan and Campsite sits on level ground right on the western shore of Loch Lomond, a couple of minutes' walk from the conservation village of Luss. The position is hard to beat for convenience: the pier, the beach, the parish church and a handful of cafes and hotels are all within easy reach on foot, and the A82 connects quickly south to Balloch and Glasgow or north towards Tarbet and Crianlarich.
The site takes tents, tourers and motorhomes on grass and hardstanding, with electric hook-ups, toilet and shower blocks, chemical disposal and water points. Facing east across the loch, you get morning light on the water and sunset behind the hills at your back. Dogs are welcome. What lifts Luss above remote Highland camping is that you're not isolated: cruise boats and water taxis leave from the pier, watersports and paddleboard hire operate from the beach, and there's a decent choice of places to eat within walking distance if the weather turns.
The village does get very busy with day visitors mid-morning to late afternoon in summer, but empties out in the evening and the shoreline quietens again. Walkers can join the shoreline paths north of the village, and the A82 makes day trips to Balloch, Arrochar or the Cobbler straightforward without moving base. Booking essential for summer weekends.

What visitors say
Booked for 1 week but left after 1 night. Its a beautiful location and luss is lovely. Some great hiking, but the site does not match. My review is based on camping. 1. No bins. There are only bins at the entrance. Drop 1 star. 2. No ability to charge your phone or battery pack. All campsites have this for tent dwellers. When I asked I was told I should have booked an electric pitch. Drop 1 star. 3. No freezer to freeze ice blocks. Simple addition. Wont Drop your star there. 4. The road noise is awful. I felt I was next to a motorway. The tents were so close to the road you could feel the lorry's. All through the night as well. Drop 1 star. So that is my feedback and 2 stars would be easily recouped there. But I won't be back and many others there were saying the same.

Luss caravan and campsite is a fantastic location, on the shores of Loch Lomond. The pitches all have great views + it's a short stroll about 10 minutes into the village with several good eateries. The site has the best toilet & shower block we've ever seen, absolutely first class & spotlessly clean.

Great views on the edge of loch Lomond, walking distance to a village with pubs, restaurants and a distillery. Campsite tidy and well maintained however due to ongoing renovations with the facilities, the showers which were open were under heavy use, making them prone to flooding and weren't the cleanest. Appreciate they are mid renovation though so probably a short term problem. Good for exploring with the dog, has a designated woodland walking area and lots of paths to explore too. Would stay again.

Great location on the banks of Loch Lomond. Toilet facilities were good, clean am the shower was nice and hot. Pitch was great overlooking the water. Staff very friendly on check in and thanks to the guy who got our model plane from the tree.
