About Albro House
Albro House occupies a Victorian townhouse on Sussex Gardens, one of the row of tall period buildings that lines this part of London. The property has been converted into a compact 19-room hotel that keeps a fairly low-key, traditional feel rather than aiming for anything grand.
Rooms are supported by a lift, and guests get free WiFi, a restaurant and bar on site, and a full English breakfast to start the day. There's also a garden, a gym, an indoor swimming pool, luggage storage and concierge and business services for anyone needing a bit more from their stay. Free on-site parking is a genuine plus in this part of London, where that's rarely a given.
The location on Sussex Gardens puts London Paddington within easy reach, useful for onward travel or arrivals off the train. Further afield, Chessington World of Adventures is sometimes mentioned as a day-trip option, while the immediate area has its own pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby for evenings without much planning required.
What guests say
The staff working there were super nice and helping. Easy access from Paddington station, which was great. Many restaurants and markets nearby. I would definitely be coming back. Great place to stay. Wi-Fi wasn’t good enough that’s why I rated 4, other than that, this place was just great.

Really good service. The price was very reasonable. Very friendly staff. Nice little room, tea and coffee. Really good shower. Pretty comfy bed. A few knocks and scuffs here and there but more than acceptable. Not noisy during the night, Had a good sleep and I would stay again. (Room 7)

The hotel’s location is perfect and very convenient. However, our experience with the staff was disappointing. We had an early flight and requested an early check-in. Initially, we were told that early check-in was not possible. Later, same staff member informed us that we could check in early by paying an extra £20 and returning around noon. When we came back ready to pay, we were told it would be £30 if paid by card and £20 only if paid in cash. Nobody had informed us about this earlier, otherwise we could have arranged cash in advance. When we explained that we did not have cash and asked if we could pay later in the evening, we were told that would be too late. The situation felt inconsistent and unprofessional, as the information kept changing. After we requested a refund, the staff member suddenly agreed to accept card payment. This gave us the impression that the extra charge was not being handled transparently. The location is excellent, but the staff communication and customer service need significant improvement.

Overpriced room. I can say the room is fairly clean, but u can hear the sound in next to the room. I can’t sleep well in these 2 nights. If u ask for change the room, each time requires 45 pounds per night. The budget room need share bathroom with others. Also, u need to pay extra if u need storage ur luggage after check out. I can say it’s overpriced. Plz just book a nice youth hostel if u wanna save money. Or live somewhere is convenient but far from centre london.
