About AMANO Covent Garden
A rooftop bar is the standout feature at AMANO Covent Garden, a 141-room hotel on Russell Street in the heart of London's theatre district. The building sits within easy reach of the Royal Opera House and Covent Garden, making it a practical base for anyone planning an evening at the theatre or a wander through the market streets nearby.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and free WiFi, and beds are consistently described as comfortable, though some of the rooms run on the smaller side. Family rooms and accessible rooms are available, and each floor is reachable by lift. Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar, and the breakfast buffet is a particular highlight for those staying over. Staff are attentive and quick to help with requests, from luggage storage to concierge advice on where to go.
Beyond the rooftop, guests have access to a garden and outdoor seating, plus laundry and business services for longer stays. Pets are welcome, and the surrounding streets are dense with pubs, bars and restaurants, all within walking distance of Covent Garden itself.
What guests say
I booked a night’s stay for my birthday and the staff, especially the receptionists were so friendly and personable. The location is very convenient in Covent Garden. The room was clean and they had all the amenities I needed, even slippers(!). The bed was comfy and I had a choice of pillows. I even got some birthday chocolates and a hand-written card which was the sweetest. I’ve stayed in a number of hotels for my birthday, including ‘5*’ ones (Sea Containers, O2 Contintental & Nobu Shoreditch) and none of these places added a personal touch like Hotel AMANO did. Some cons to bare in mind though, they didn’t have a mini-fridge in the room and no lamps either, it was either big lights or no lights. As a solo traveller I actually prefer smaller rooms however it would have been nice to have a little desk area to eat at. For reference I booked the Comfy with Balcony room so it is their part of their smallest room range. All in all however, I would definitely come back!

The overall hotel looks lux, unfortunately when we arrived at around 4 (after checkin) - the checkin wasn't ready because the balcony door was being fixed (we were told at the reception to wait a few more minutes because they want everything to be perfect for us - as if a working balcony door is a high bar). We didn't wait long which was fine. We got a coupon for a drink upstairs which we weren't told can only be used for spirits and wine, no cocktails so we ended up paying for it anyway. The balcony door was still broken. For the amount paid I expected the room to have a fridge. We were also woken up at some point by the fire alarm system which went off a few times. Not impressed by the balcony view. The hall on the floor we stayed on smelled like sewage. Overall fine, but not a redo at this price.

My daughter and I went there for cocktails and tapas on the roof terrace today for her birthday. We were served by Altug and he is the reason why I am writing a review. He was so friendly and helpful and he did everything with a lovely smile. Thank you Altug for making my daughter feel special.

I stayed here in London from January 5th to January 15th with a friend. We absolutely loved this hotel. We loved that they had a buffet every morning from 7am -11 am for about 22 pounds per person. It was such a delight to have. The staff was very attentive and kind! On our last day they even let us grab a coffee from the buffet free of charge, shoutout Liam, who was very kind to us on our last day. The room is good size, a little small, but fine for 2 people! Also, it was a good location to stay in, everything about a 20ish bus/tube ride away. The location was safe too. The rooftop bar was also great!
