About Covent Garden by Excel Apartments

A modern block of serviced apartments on Wellington Street, Covent Garden by Excel Apartments offers a straightforward base in the heart of central London rather than a period building with heritage charm. The style is functional and contemporary, suited to travellers who want space and independence over traditional hotel service.

Each apartment comes with an en-suite bathroom and a kitchen, so guests can prepare their own meals, along with drinks provided in the room. A 24 hour reception is on hand throughout your stay, and there's a garden on site for some outdoor space away from the street.

The location puts Covent Garden Market on your doorstep, with plenty of pubs, bars, restaurants and other eateries close by, plus entertainment nearby for evenings out. There's no parking available at the property, so it suits guests arriving by train, tube or on foot rather than by car.

DO NOT STAY ! We booked 4 nights in deluxe apartment and stayed 1 night due to the unsafe electrical/maintenance issues and a horrendous bed. They still owe us over $1000 refund. The smoke alarms were turned off at switch board , the bed had springs poking out its entire length, the bathroom light didn’t work properly , the window latch was hanging on by one screw. Management have stock standard answer to same problems reviewed a year ago ! Sadly bad reviews get buried !

Can’t say anything about the room yet, been waiting for 1 hour outside the door due to a horrible checkin experience

Absolutely gutted by this experience. I booked the excel apartment for Trafalgar Square for my birthday in Jan, received confirmation and then was told I couldn’t stay because I’m 23 and they require guests to be 25+. This was hidden in the fine print and is not normal in the UK where 18+ is standard. The booking was expensive, no stay took place and yet they still refused to issue a refund. Booking.com even tried to help and got nowhere. This completely ruined my birthday plans 😔and left me seriously out of pocket for something I was never even allowed to use. Extremely disappointing and upsetting. Please be very careful before booking.

Absolutely terrible service — blatant scam service. Avoid at all COST!! I made a reservation barely two hours before canceling because they did not want to let me in, yet Excel Appartement enforced an extremely punitive policy as if I had held the booking for weeks. Nothing about this was made clear upfront. Their phone agent even told me to cancel and guaranteed I’d be reimbursed — which clearly wasn’t true. They should review their call recordings from Saturday at 5pm and the agent responsible. To make matters worse, they did everything possible to prevent me from checking in, despite the fact that I had already paid. I even offered to enter alone, but they claimed their “system” wouldn’t allow it unless two guests checked in. Completely absurd, suspicious, and blatantly against the customer’s interest. I ended up paying triple elsewhere because of their behavior. If I don’t get a proper response by Tuesday, I’ll be leaving this review everywhere.
