About CityLodge London
CityLodge London suits visitors after a straightforward, budget-friendly stay rather than a destination in itself. With just 14 rooms, it's a small, unpretentious hotel on Bow Road, well placed for getting around East London by public transport, making it a practical choice for city breaks, short work trips or anyone passing through the area.
Rooms are simply furnished and functional, and guests have access to a shared kitchen alongside free Wi-Fi and air conditioning. Breakfast is available on-site, and other facilities include luggage storage, laundry service, drinks in the room, meeting rooms, concierge services and childcare, plus a garden for some outdoor space. Free on-site parking and airport transfers are also on offer, which helps for those arriving with luggage or travelling on to the airport.
Beyond the hotel, there are pubs, restaurants and other eateries nearby, along with local entertainment options, giving guests plenty of choice for meals and evenings out without needing to travel far. It's a modest, budget-conscious base rather than a luxury stay, best suited to travellers who prioritise location and price over polish.

⚠️ BEWARE: Bedbug Infestation I stayed at the City Lodge London from June 22nd to June 24th, 2026, and it was an absolute nightmare. The hotel is infested with bedbugs, and I was bitten during my stay. Beyond the bedbug issue, the overall state of the hotel is dismal. It is completely run-down, the carpets are extremely dirty, the entire place is not maintained. And there is no air conditioning (which could be an issue in case of heatwave...). To make matters worse, when we confronted the manager, he admitted that they had already dealt with bedbugs before (6 months ago), claiming it is a "recurring problem in the hotel industry." This is completely unacceptable and does nothing to address the lack of hygiene in his own establishment. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place!

Scammers. The hotel’s website states that they offer free cancellation. I contacted the hotel more than three weeks before my scheduled stay, which was only for one night, and requested to cancel my reservation and receive a refund. However, I was informed that their policy does not allow refunds and that I would not get my money back. When I asked why their website advertises free cancellation, especially considering that I contacted them well in advance of my booking date, I did not receive any response.

We booked this hotel to avoid spending a lot of money for stay. For the price we paid it's excellent !!!!!! The guy on the front desk was very nice and helpful. Clean room. Hot shower. Comfortable bed with hard mattress. Very nice breakfast. You can buy your food and warm up in microwave. Super comfortable commute to all major attractions. Underground is just few minutes away. Don't buy ticket for Underground. Just pay with your bank card and it will be much cheaper. Excellent connection to airport with Express bus A7. Would highly recommend this hotel to my friends.
