About George Hotel

Bloomsbury remains one of the best-placed parts of London for getting around, and the George Hotel takes advantage of that with an address on Cartwright Gardens, within easy reach of King's Cross and Euston stations. It's a practical base for exploring the city, whether by train, tube or on foot through the surrounding squares and gardens.

The hotel has 40 rooms that are generally well kept and comfortably furnished, though some are on the smaller side, so it's worth bearing that in mind when booking. A cooked English breakfast is served each morning and consistently rated as a highlight. Guests also have access to a restaurant, bar, garden, and a spa and sauna, along with business services and meeting rooms for those travelling with work in mind. Free on-site parking is a useful bonus in a part of London where that's rare.

Staff are noted for being friendly and helpful, adding to the ease of a stay here. With pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby, plus swift onward travel from two major stations, the George Hotel suits both short city breaks and longer visits that need a reliable base.

I stayed there a few months ago for a business trip, it was perfect. My room was quiet and comfortable, with reliable wifi for work. Staff were professional and helped arrange a late checkout. Breakfast was efficient and tasty. Convenient location made meetings easy. I would happily stay there again.

The breakfast was tasty and offered a good variety of options to start the day. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with any questions or requests. The location is a plus—it's within walking distance of restaurants and the train station, making it convenient for exploring London. That said, there are a few things to be aware of. There is no elevator or air conditioning. We were on the fourth floor and had to carry our luggage up very narrow stairs, which was quite a workout. Our room was also small for three women sharing a double-bed setup, and there was no fridge or microwave. The staff were polite but not especially friendly—more of a "just doing their job" experience. Overall, it's fine if you're looking for a basic, well-located hotel, but know what to expect before booking.

When I was able to find the hotel, staff were so helpful and lovely. I should have used Google maps (but didn't, am a near expert at it now) because I got misdirected so many times... My room was small but clean. The Internet was okay but not fast, so the tv was affected sometimes. But there was no dust, the room was comfortable and they provided a good fan for hlot days. Breakfast was included and the ladies ran a tight ship. I actually expected a continental breakfast but there was cooked, hot food also. It was very nice. Please don't forget to thank them!
