About Grange Clarendon

Fifty-one rooms are spread through Grange Clarendon, a townhouse hotel on Bedford Place in central London, just a short walk from the British Museum and well placed for the Underground. It occupies a row of period buildings typical of this part of Bloomsbury, with a garden tucked behind the frontage offering a quiet spot away from the street.

Rooms come with free WiFi and in-room drinks, and there's a lift for guests who'd rather not use the stairs. Some rooms are on the compact side and maintenance can be patchy in places, so it's worth setting expectations accordingly. Staff are consistently helpful, and the continental breakfast served each morning is a reliable start to the day. A restaurant and bar operate on site, along with porter and concierge services and business facilities for those travelling for work.

Beyond the hotel doors, Covent Garden and the wider museum quarter are within easy reach, and the surrounding streets are dotted with pubs, restaurants and other eateries. It suits travellers who want a central base and don't mind a modest room in exchange for the location.

My room was too warm,no air con, no fridge. I guess it is good for the winter, but by noeans for warm days like these in Lindon when the temperature is above 30. The location was premium, and staff were nice.

Deeply disappointing experience. I booked a Superior Double Room advertised with AC, but the room had no air conditioning whatsoever. The building is very old and poorly maintained, the room was extremely small, and we found cockroaches inside. The conditions were simply uninhabitable, so I had no choice but to check out early and book a different hotel at my own expense. The hotel refused to issue any refund despite not delivering the amenities listed at booking. I feel completely misled — what was advertised as a Superior Double Room did not match reality in any way. Poor customer service and would not recommend to anyone.

Stayed in room 314 for 2 nights from 2 December 2025. Unbelievable that a hotel has a room this small and directly beside the lift. Staff were pleasant. Ridiculously expensive for a tiny box room, that definitely has nothing going for it. TV partially obscured by curtain, portable rad in room with feet missing, which was plugged into only available socket.

Bed bugs in the room and all they could offer was an poor apology and a room change, no partial refund for a 3 hour night sleep before a huge day ahead with an important meeting. I had another stay booked before realising the state of the hotel: outdated and infested, despite the circumstances, Trip.com and the hotel have refused to cancel and refund me the next stay, which is a shame as it was for my birthday weekend, and I don’t want to be around bed bugs again. Save your money and book a better hotel. UPDATE: after a number of emails with trip.com and the hotel, I received a refund for the second stay and trip.com redeemed themselves. I think they should be more careful as to which hotel they host on their platform.
