About Holiday Inn Express London Chingford
Chingford, on the edge of London with Walthamstow and the city centre within reach, is where the Holiday Inn Express London Chingford makes its home on Walthamstow Avenue. It's a practical choice for anyone wanting easy access into London without paying central prices, and the hotel itself has built a reputation for tidy rooms and a welcoming atmosphere, helped along by staff who are consistently described as friendly and professional.
The hotel spreads across four floors and holds 102 rooms, including family and accessible options, all with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and free WiFi. There's a restaurant and bar on site, a snack bar for something quicker, and kids' meals available for families travelling together. Breakfast is included, though it's worth knowing it doesn't always match the standard of the rest of the stay. Business travellers are catered for with meeting rooms, and laundry and luggage storage are on hand for those passing through.
On-site parking is available but comes at an extra cost, and spaces can be limited, so it's worth planning ahead if arriving by car. Beyond the hotel, there's a golf course, pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby, and pets are welcome for those not travelling alone.
What guests say
Rooms were clean and quiet. Couldn’t hear any noise from other guests or outside. Felt very safe throughout the stay. Check in was quick and easy. Sam who checked us in was friendly and gave us a choice of room. Great hotel to stay at if you’re doing anything at Tottenham stadium. 15 mins away in a taxi.

Excellent small/medium Holiday Inn Express hotel conveniently situated next to the North Circular Road. There is a convenient car park but even with a discount, hotel guests still must pay £10 per night. The hotel itself has a very pleasant and spacious reception and café/bar area. The room had plenty of storage and shelves, and ours had a view from the third floor. Good shower and plentiful hot water. The breakfast was standard for Holiday Inn Express. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a convenient car park but even with a discount, hotel guests still must pay £10 per night. A larger discount or even complementary parking for IHG Rewards Club members would be a welcome benefit.

Honestly, the perfect overnight stay. We couldn’t hear the road so don’t be put off by the location. Really friendly welcome and so informative, they gave us all the info you need at check-in. Room has everything you need, socket by the bed and hairdryer by the large mirror, large shower and tissues, tea and coffee etc. really well thought out. Would stay again.

Overall, this hotel is a disappointment. I'm an IHG Member and have stayed in dozens of HI/HI Express and this is not worthy of the brand. Positives: The front desk staff are excellent and very helpful and WiFi is free, but that's about all I can think of that's positive. Parking: £10/day pay on arrival, but the car park is far too small. When the hotel is full, you have no choice but to double park, kerb park or park on double yellows, despite the fact Sainsbury's next door has a massive car park which is never full. They should negotiate more spaces. Rooms: Dated, but comfy enough overall. The road doesn't cause many issues. The tea/coffee is very rationed. The shower is tepid and fluctuates. Bed was ok and slept as reasonably as a person who needs to loo 3 times a night would! Breakfast: the worst hotel breakfast we've ever had! Watered down OJ or the strangest apple we've ever seen, powdered scrambled eggs with no other choices, toast can be butter (no margarine), honey (which you squeeze out of a sticky plastic tub into a paper sachet) or marmite from a shared jar and that's it. Refused to warm milk for cereals. Sausages were awful, bacon was dry, bread was stale. Hardly any fruit other than canned summer fruits and a shared yoghurt bowl which unless you are the first to, good luck. Location: road isn't so bad, but we arrived by train. From Walthamstow it's a shortish bus ride on the 97 or the 158 takes you to/from Stratford. Overall: I would not choose to stay here again.
