About Hotel Indigo London Kensington

Earls Court tube station is a short walk from Hotel Indigo London Kensington, putting South Kensington's museums, the shops of the West End and a wide choice of local restaurants and pubs within easy reach. The surrounding streets of Barkston Gardens are quiet and residential, making it a good base for exploring the city on foot or by tube.

The hotel has 100 rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and drinks available in-room, and there's a lift for easier access throughout the building. Breakfast is a particular strength, with a broad spread of options served each morning, and the rooms are kept consistently clean. Staff are generally friendly and attentive, though service has occasionally been described as inconsistent.

Beyond the rooms, guests have access to a restaurant, bar and snack bar, an indoor swimming pool, gym and spa with sauna, plus a garden for some outdoor space. Business travellers are catered for with meeting rooms and business services, while porter and concierge services, luggage storage and pet-friendly policies round out the practical offering. Entertainment, pubs and restaurants are all close by for evenings out.

We stayed here for five nights and, sadly, it was one of the worst IHG experiences we've had. The positives: the location is excellent, and housekeeping was outstanding. However, the "minibar" was simply an empty fridge with two bottles of water. The biggest disappointment was the customer service. Rakesh made a poor first impression at check-in, coming across as cold, rude and unwelcoming. During London's hot weather, we repeatedly asked Cyrus for a fan and were told, "We'll see what we can do," but nobody ever followed up. It wasn't until the third night, after I went down to reception myself, that Dev stepped in, found us a fan and made us feel genuinely welcome. Throughout our stay, we often found ourselves greeting the reception staff before they even acknowledged us. We felt ignored and neglected throughout our stay. For around £200 a night without breakfast for a total of 5 nights stay, we expected far better from a four-star IHG hotel. If a great location and clean room matter more than good customer service, this hotel may be for you. If you expect to feel welcomed and looked after, I'd recommend staying elsewhere. We won't be returning, and we certainly won't be recommending this hotel to anyone. We stayed here for five nights and, sadly, it was one of the worst IHG experiences we've had.

I had seen quite a few negative reviews before staying here, so I was slightly apprehensive, but overall my experience was pleasant. The hotel was clean, the location was excellent, and the staff were friendly, although some were a little eccentric. I had one of the more expensive rooms, which may have helped, but the room itself was comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast was the main disappointment. The buffet looked very good, but the cooked English breakfast was badly overdone. Even the toast was burned, and the bacon was dry and tough, with charred edges, as though it had been kept warm under a grill for too long. Apart from the breakfast, I enjoyed the stay. It is a clean, comfortable hotel in a very convenient part of London, but the kitchen needs more care.

This is one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in. This hotel has a Massive problem with spiders and general uncleanliness. Don’t think our bed had been washed or cleaned. It was impossible to breathe in it. We asked for a new room at midnight and we were told there were no other ones and we had to stay put. Yes the location is great but there are so many other hotels nearby in Kensington. Any other one is better than this. It’s a glorified 2 star hotel at best. Would honestly avoid at all costs. It’s kind of ruined the vibe of our trip to London

We had a great time. Nice, clean hotel. Comfy beds and spacious rooms. The breakfast included a buffet and great menu items. Our favorite part of the stay was seeing Roger and Richard every morning at breakfast! What a wonderful and fun staff! We are definitely returning next time we are in town.
