About Hyatt Place London City East
Walk into a room at Hyatt Place London City East and you get a properly spacious layout, air conditioning, an en-suite bathroom and a comfortable bed, with drinks in the room and room service on hand if you'd rather not go out. Some guests have found the rooms pick up noise from outside, worth bearing in mind if you're a light sleeper, but the overall standard of the 280 rooms is consistently well kept, and family rooms and accessible rooms are also available.
Downstairs there's a restaurant and a bar, plus a snack bar for something lighter, and breakfast is served with a wide buffet spread each morning. The rooftop bar is a particular draw, styled in a modern fashion with good views over the city, making it a natural spot for an evening drink. Beyond food and drink, the hotel has a gym, a spa and sauna, and business facilities including meeting rooms, useful for anyone combining work with their stay. Staff throughout are noted for being friendly and ready to help.
Set near Aldgate East, the hotel puts guests within easy reach of public transport links into central London and the city's business districts, with pubs, restaurants and other eateries all close by for evenings out. Pets are welcome, though there's no parking available on site, so arriving by public transport is the simplest option.
What guests say
I stayed at Hyatt Place London East because of the price. It is substantially less expensive (cash and points) than other hotels in London because it’s not dead center in the tourist area of London but that’s its charm. It is one Underground (subway) stop from the Tower of London. There are two stations by the hotel enabling you to go anywhere you want but not be in the middle of the madness. The room is quiet and comfortable with a cold air conditioner and refrigerator. The bed is comfortable. The shower is easy to use. I didn’t purchase the breakfast because I don’t eat breakfast but I could pick up a coffee at a coffee shop next door. There was also a Starbucks and a little grocery store too close by to pick up anything you need. Brick Lane, Spitalfields, and Shoreditch s within walking distance with a ton of pubs and restaurants. The staff is very helpful. From the airport, take the Elizabeth line to White Chapel and the hotel is 10 minutes right down the street. When you exit the station, you will be in a Muslim community maybe Moroccan with a lively street market. Keep going and the hotel will be on your right. I enjoyed my stay there and hope to be back soon!

Right on the Elizabeth line from Heathrow The staff here is fantastic. Just terrific. My room was tiny but it was just me so fine but I don’t think I could really open my suitcase well. Breakfast was good too. Loved the bar and food on the roof. I didn’t explore the area too much bc I moved on quickly. Again- staff was top notch

A new nice place to stay in London, definitely will consider next time again. Very comfy rooms and nice staff. Great location for the east part of London. Breakfast ok but could be better. Some issues with systems as they are just getting up and running. But overall very good.

Great value vs quality equation. It’s not a high-street location as it's on the fringes of the CBD, but it's an easy 15-minute walk to the offices, a 18-minute walk to Liverpool Street Station, and just a 3-minute walk to the nearest subway station which makes commuting very convenient. The surrounding area is vibrant, full of culture, and has an excellent selection of local cafes and food options near Whitechapel Street. Plus, it’s right next door to a Starbucks and close to supermarkets ranging from Tesco to a macro mart. Rooms: I stayed in an accessibility room which was very large and spacious. The layout was a bit oddly shaped, but the generous space would be incredibly comfortable and great value if you are traveling with family. It was a reasonably quiet room; you don’t hear much street noise even though the room faces the road. However, sound from the hallway travels in quite loudly, and while you can hear some room-to-room noise, it was acceptable enough. Service: Service here was really good. The staff make you feel genuinely welcomed the moment you walk in. Food & Beverage: They offer a small but reasonable breakfast buffet, along with one on-site restaurant and a cafe. Having solid in-house F&B options is great for convenience. The breakfast buffet can get extremely busy, so expect a short wait during peak hours, but the staff do a really good job of managing the crowd and getting people seated efficiently. Facilities & Public Areas: The lobby and lounge area is small but tidy with plenty of seating for a boutique-sized hotel. Check-in and check-out are fast and effective, with self-service tablets available right at the entry, though the concierge team is always friendly and helpful if you need them. Note that it is a self-service luggage hotel. For workouts, the gym is on the smaller side but features high-quality, clean equipment in good condition, with water and towels provided. Overall, for the price, location, and standard of quality, this hotel offers fantastic value. Highly recommended for a comfortable, practical stay on the edge of the city.
