About Lancaster Court Hotel

Lancaster Court Hotel suits visitors who want an easy, no-fuss base in central London rather than a polished city break. With 40 rooms on Sussex Gardens, it's a practical option for anyone arriving by train or heading out to explore, thanks to its position close to both Paddington Station and Hyde Park.

Rooms are straightforward, with comfortable beds regularly mentioned as a highlight, and staff have a reputation for being friendly and helpful. That said, maintenance can be inconsistent, so travellers after a flawless finish may find some rooms show their age. Facilities include a restaurant and bar on site, breakfast, free WiFi, a lift, and luggage storage, which helps for early arrivals or late departures. Free on-site parking is a further practical plus for those driving into the city.

The surrounding area has plenty of nearby restaurants, pubs and entertainment options, making it easy to eat and unwind without travelling far. It's worth noting that some guests have reported unexpected deposit charges, so it pays to check the terms at booking. Overall, this is a fair fit for those who prioritise location and value over five-star polish.

I had a reasonable sized single room which was perfectly sized for just me and the bed and pillows were super comfy. I was on the 4th floor and without lift access, it’s not for the infirm. THankfully a fan was provided in the room because it was a heatwave and 4 floors up it was warm, but this wasn’t the hotel’s fault. Staff were lovely and helpful, drinks are available for a low cost behind reception and easy tube stations were reached at Lancaster Gate and Paddington 3-5 mins walk away. GReat food and convenience store options just round the corner on the walk up to Paddington

The room was small but has everything you need. The bed was a little soft for my liking but still comfortable. We met a lot of people at the reception, and everyone of them was friendly forthcoming. Just a few minutes by foot are Paddington as well as the underground station Lancaster Gate, which makes for great starting points to discover London. Unfortunately, the ceiling fan in our room wasn't working. However, the staff got us a small standing one, which made the heat bearable.

I‘ve been here with my girlfriend for 4 days and it was great. Our room was tiny, but we‘ve had enough space for our clothes and our luggage. The staff at the reception was very polite and our room has been cleaned every day when we were on our daily trips. We will come back, if we are going to plan our next trip to London. Also you can reach the bus and the underground in only a few minutes. The experience at our first London-trip was was very nice.

Our experience was very disappointing. We were visiting London for the first time as tourists and expected better treatment. A small amount of water accidentally came out of the bathroom. We immediately informed the staff, apologized, and explained that it was an honest mistake. We politely asked them to understand the situation. At check-in, they took a £100 security deposit. Instead of returning it, they kept the £100 and charged us an additional £50, making the total £150. We felt this was an excessive and unfair charge for such a minor incident. We left feeling upset and disappointed. We expected understanding and good customer service, but unfortunately, that was not our experience. We would not choose to stay here again.
