About NOX HOTELS - West Hampstead

West Hampstead is a leafy corner of north-west London known for its mix of independent cafes, pubs and restaurants along the high street, and it's here that NOX HOTELS - West Hampstead makes its home on West End Lane. With just 12 rooms, it's a compact, low-key base rather than a sprawling city hotel, suited to travellers who want a straightforward place to sleep close to the action.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning, and the hotel offers 24 hour reception along with luggage storage for those arriving early or leaving late. There's no restaurant on site, but plenty of eating and drinking options sit nearby, from pubs and bars to independent restaurants, so guests are never far from a meal or a drink out.

The wider area has entertainment on the doorstep too, making it a reasonable spot for exploring this part of London on foot. It's a modest, no-frills hotel that suits guests prioritising location and convenience over extensive facilities.

Great value for the price we paid. The location was great, very close to both overground and underground stations with plenty of restaurants around for food. Thankfully the room had two fans because the heat would have been unbearable otherwise.

Worst stay of my life. Room REEKED of bleach which made it difficult to breathe in the hotel room. Every time I spoke on the phone, I kept coughing as the smell was so bad. Every time I coughed I felt like I was inhaling the bleach. I had a headache as soon as I entered the room and started feeling dizzy after 4 hours. I asked the workers for some assistance over the phone and the man told me to ‘open a window’, even though I was staying there as a woman, by myself. There were people also lurking around outside my door and when I told the worker I felt unsafe, he said ‘there is nothing I can do about that’. I left after 4/5 hours as if I stayed there any longer I would’ve ended up in hospital. I remained feeling dizzy up until the next morning. When I did wake up the next morning, I had a sore throat. The rooms are NOT safe to stay in. The workers insisted that the smell was normal and when I asked the worker to inspect the room, he refused. I wanted him to experience how bad it was because I knew they were going to make excuses in the morning and THEY DID. They have refused to give me a refund or any type of compensation. If you value your health, please don’t stay here.

Just got back from an 8 night stay. Had a really great experience. we were in a triple room which was exceptionally spacious. the specific building we were in was very quiet and well maintained. The room was spotless and serviced daily. The beds comfy, sheets soft and shower hot. We checked in late with no troubles and the only snag we had throughout the stay was with needing a few electrical outlets to be switched on after accidently switched off. The office was always responsive and very friendly and helped out immediately. in my opinion this is a perfect option for travelers that plan to be out most of the day or those who have a connection or affinity to the lovely neighborhood or surrounding ones. and the accessibility to transportation is unrivaled... do not book if you need a lift (elevator). I will no doubt stay there again next time.

I put a colleague here for several nights. The staff were staggeringly unhelpful and unfriendly. He required a post midnight check-in and we were told that details of the late check in process could only be given at the 10pm despite the fact the reception closes at 11pm. We twice phoned them in business hours to protest the precariousness of their proposal. We emailed too and provided contact details as the booking was made via a travel desk. As I write at 22.53, no email arrived and I am listening to my colleague on a train spelling his email address on the phone to avail to retrieve these details and avoid sleeping rough on West End Lane. Quite stressful for him as a non-UK resident. I guess the management must be pretty awful to have engendered such unhelpful staff!
