About Paddington Park Hotel

Paddington Park Hotel occupies a townhouse building on Craven Terrace, a quiet street just a short walk from Paddington Station and Hyde Park. With 40 rooms, it has the feel of a smaller, more personal hotel rather than a large chain property, though it still packs in a fuller range of facilities than its size might suggest.

Rooms come with air conditioning and in-room drinks, and breakfast is served each morning and consistently rated as one of the highlights of a stay. Beyond the bedrooms, guests have access to a restaurant and bar, a gym, spa and sauna, and an indoor swimming pool, along with a garden, business services and a concierge desk for anything from luggage storage to local recommendations. The building does not have a lift, worth bearing in mind for anyone who'd rather avoid stairs, and it's sensible to double-check booking details directly given occasional inconsistencies.

There's no parking on site, but the location makes a car unnecessary, with pubs, restaurants and entertainment all close by and central London within easy reach. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and the combination of comfortable, air-conditioned rooms and solid value has made this a popular base for exploring the city.

Very clean rooms. Everybody are very nice. It is near the Paddington train station and subway (5min walk). Also 5 min walk to Hyde park. Breakfast is realy delicious. When I visit London again I will return to this hotel. Near the hotel are little shops, restautants and a pub.

The hotel is well located, close to the tube stations, with many restaurants and cafés nearby. I booked a single room, but the receptionist kindly upgraded me to a double bed, which was very thoughtful. The only downside was that the room smelled of paint, as I believe the renovation is still ongoing. Overall, my short stay at Paddington Park Hotel was great.

WARNING – Nightmare booking, and I never got to stay. 1st Issue. After booking this hotel through Booking.com, I quickly received a message on the Booking.com website stating that I needed to confirm the booking via WhatsApp. I then received both a direct email and a WhatsApp message. Initially, since the message came via the Booking.com site and the link displayed all the booking information, I entered some details. However, when it asked for a payment which would be quickly refunded, I realised this was a SCAM. I messaged Booking.com and the hotel to alert them but heard nothing back from either. Some searching found other reports of the same SCAM (do a quick search). This was not just someone who got my email; it came via the hotel’s Booking.com account, so it seemed real, but it is a SCAM. Neither the hotel nor Booking.com replied to me, nor do they seem to care about this either. I have now learned NEVER re-enter details for a confirmed booking, no matter where the request comes from! 2nd issue. Two weeks after I had made a fully confirmed booking, the hotel suddenly cancelled my booking, for no reason and without any notice. The room then reappeared as available, but at a much higher price. I contacted Booking.com to ask what had happened; no reply. I then contacted the hotel and just got back 5 words ‘I cannot reply to this’; I asked why and got a 2nd reply, ‘I am sorry I cannot respond to this ’, both had no name or who they were. Very odd to say the least. I later got a further message saying there had been a technical issue, which I do not believe; they accepted, confirmed and had my booking for 2 weeks, they made no attempt to contact those who had booked or rebooked them if there really was an issue, and relisted the room at a higher price. I also saw another review with the same problem. Do not book at this hotel; there seems to be a serious issue with customer bookings being used in a SCAM. Also, if they are happy to cancel rooms for no reason, with no attempts to help those who have booked, who can say it will not happen to you again, maybe last minute! I also recommend avoiding Booking.com and using a better site; they have not replied to any messages about the SCAM or cancelled booking, and don’t seem to care. Very worrying, uncaring and unprofessional.
