A 184-room Bloomsbury hotel on Southampton Row, well suited to budget-minded sightseers who want a central London base with easy transport links.

About The Bedford Hotel

The Bedford Hotel suits travellers who want to be within walking distance of central London's museums and squares without paying West End prices. With 184 rooms, it works equally well for a couples' weekend, a solo trip built around sightseeing, or a family stay near Russell Square, and pets are welcome too.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and the option of drinks on request, and are kept clean and comfortable, though some can run warm, so it's worth bearing in mind in the summer months. Breakfast is a particular strength, with a varied buffet included, and there's also a restaurant and bar on site for evening meals or a nightcap. A garden gives a bit of outdoor space rarely found at this kind of central address.

Southampton Row puts guests near Bloomsbury's pubs, restaurants and entertainment, with good transport links making it straightforward to reach the rest of London. On-site parking is available for a charge, and staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, adding to a stay that's generally considered good value for the location.

What a beautiful hotel. Siobhan (I hope I spelled it correctly) and Ken were a very welcoming front desk staff. Pleasant and informative. Thr room was massive and it was nice to be able to just come back to After a day of being a tourist. It is in a perfect location to the British museum and transit. Will definitely recommend to family and friends

The Imperial Hotels are always my go to when staying over in London. I've been using the Bedford for over seven years and always have a pleasant stay. From the welcoming people on reception, the yummy breakfast, lovely decor and handy location. It was lovely to see that I was guest of the day, after a long journey that made my day. Thank you! 🙂

The hotel staff in the lobby are kind and explain things slowly even if I'm not good at English😅 And room condition is good🩷 In the UK, we need to consider the dark and old facilities of hotels in Zones 1 and 2, but I passed👌 I like the room lighting is bright and the mirrors and windows are big🏡 And this morning breakfast... It's amazing! The composition was decent, but the feeling of eating while looking at the trees in the garden was so, so healing~~🍒🍒🍒 It was a success from the first day to the second day. I'll be staying for another week, and I think I'll be staying here again when I come to London~~ I don't have an air conditioner, but I think I'm okay because there's a fan♡ And the Wi-Fi is exceptionally good compared to other British hotels. I had a hard time staying at another hotel last year, but this hotel is truly grateful that I didn't have to worry about data👍Thank you so much!

Room 402 twin bed garden facing, quiet & pleasant room with garden views . The bathroom is separate from the loo. The bathroom is tired with the shower over the bath with curtain. It’s certainly not big enough for anyone over 190 cm. Towels for the first 2 days were dull & worn. We had parking in their underground car park for 3 night for £80. Liked the hotel and the location.
