About The Clermont Charing Cross
The Clermont Charing Cross spans six floors and 239 rooms above one of London's busiest railway stations, its scale making it a solid, purpose-built base rather than a boutique hideaway. Sitting directly on the Strand, it puts guests within easy walking distance of Trafalgar Square, with the Underground and mainline trains practically on the doorstep.
Rooms come with air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms and complimentary drinks stocked in the minibar, along with family and accessible options for those who need them. The restaurant and bar are a particular strength, with the afternoon tea and main menu both well regarded, while breakfast, room service, packed lunches and kids' meals cover most eventualities. A gym, lift access, laundry service and meeting rooms round out the practical side, and the concierge team is consistently described as helpful and attentive.
There's no parking on site, so this suits guests arriving by rail or public transport rather than by car. Given the central position, pubs, restaurants and entertainment venues are all within easy reach nearby, making it a convenient stopover for exploring central London on foot.

What guests say
Staying at the Clermont Charing Cross Hotel in London is a truly unique experience. The hotel becomes the destination. Visiting London from here is a privilege. Everything is convenient and close by. The Hotel Clermont is elegant and refined, and the staff captivates guests with their kindness and professionalism. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the attention to detail is evident. At the front desk, Dafne welcomed us and helped us resolve a problem with extreme efficiency. Breakfast overlooking the National Gallery and St. Martin's Church is a must! We'd like to thank Mateus, who welcomed us every morning in the charming breakfast room and always understood our needs. His smile is the true good morning every guest would want during a vacation. Thank you! Well done!

Overall, we had a good stay, but there were several inconsistencies that kept it from being a great one. The location is outstanding—easily a 10/10. It’s close to major attractions and right next to the Tube, making it incredibly convenient. The hotel is beautifully decorated, the restaurant has great views, and both dinner and the breakfast buffet were very good. The breakfast buffet was especially worth the price. Unfortunately, communication and housekeeping were inconsistent. During one morning, the fire alarm went off in our room, and after evacuating, we were told it was a scheduled test. We never received any notice, which was confusing. Check-in was also frustrating, as our room wasn’t ready until exactly 3:00 p.m., and despite being told the finishing touches were being completed, we found food left on the floor from the previous guest and only one bottle of water in the room. Housekeeping often forgot to restock towels, snacks, and water, so we had to call multiple times during our stay. Dinner service was slow and inattentive, although breakfast service was excellent. The gym is also very small and becomes crowded with just a few people. Overall, this is a nice hotel in an unbeatable location, but better communication and more consistent housekeeping would make a big difference.

Great location to see downtown London. Staff were great, rooms and room cleaning service was great! Convenient to catch train, tube or train. Lots of restaurants around Hotel. Would highly recommend if visiting London! They even kept our luggage for us on the last day after check out so we could do more site seeing before our flight. Oh yeah the free mini bar and coffee were a nice touch and restocked every day!

Our family had a nice time here. It’s a large hotel with lots of amenities. The service was helpful. The location is very central! It of course has pros and cons, it’s very busy out front and there are always crowds and traffic. The hotel does a nice job of maintaining a peaceful environment once inside and I was pleasantly surprised that we were not disturbed by street noise (5th floor).
