About The Queens Gate Hotel

The Queens Gate Hotel occupies a row of four Victorian townhouses in South Kensington, joined together to create a single hotel with 90 rooms behind a classic London facade. Inside, the style is contemporary rather than period, with air conditioning, a lift and a modern finish throughout the building.

Rooms come with free WiFi, and guests have use of a restaurant, a bar with a garden terrace, and an on-site gym for those who want to keep up a routine while travelling. Breakfast is served on site, and practical extras include luggage storage, laundry service, business facilities, and free on-site parking, which is a rare find in this part of London.

The location puts guests within easy reach of South Kensington's museums and attractions, with restaurants, pubs and other eateries all nearby for evenings out. It suits both business stays and sightseeing trips, with the garden terrace a pleasant spot to return to at the end of the day.

Cecile, vanky and other members of staff during my stay, were extremely helpful, polite and professional, with amazing smiles. I needed a letter to be printed, they sorted it out and last minute taxi at rush hour, organised quickly. The room was perfect for us. Clean, spacious, a classic look with modern touches. The server did show me how to use the coffee machine but still had difficulty using it. The stay was pleasant.

This has been a fabulous hotel to stay at for the past week. From the time we made our reservation several months ago everyone in staff has been incredibly kind and helpful. Sam, one of the concierge, assured us with arrangements for taxi pick up at Heathrow and then throughout the week was always on hand to answer questions. Venky another concierge was also of great assistance to us. He would jump right up to help with directions or other issues. The front desk staff always available as well with a smile. The room was super quiet (114) and large! The daily room service was superb! Lastly the daily breakfast was fantastic with many options from healthy to indulgent pastries! The only improvement I’d have would be softer pillows in the rooms. :) We would definitely return again! Also highly recommend the restaurant Eli’s near South Kensington tube for dining. Delicious healthy food for reasonable prices and charming atmosphere.

Our 5th floor room had a very obscured view, appreciate there is nothing that could be done about that, listed building and so on. I only dropped a star off the room for 3 reasons; 1. because there were no instructions for the myriad of devices (coffee maker was more difficult to master than my car's infotainment system). 2. Shower door refused to close properly. 3. The room was not made up until the evening. Aside from that, there was a comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, powerful shower and nice, chilly air conditioning - essential for 30 degrees plus. Bar and bistro were great, well stocked, good food menus, and well serviced by the staff. Breakfast was excellent, hot buffet style, cereals, breads, meats, fruit etc. Lots of coffee, tea and fruit juice. Everyone was lovely, happy people making our time a real joy.

We stayed two different weekends in this hotel and both times we had a great experience. The tube is an easy walk down the road and we felt safe walking through the neighborhoods. The porters were extremely helpful and kind and deserve some praise with the hard work they do with a smile. Rooms were comfortable, nice and cool and are beautifully decorated. Thank you for a wonderful stay in London on our anniversary!
