About Malmaison London

Charterhouse Square is one of the few genuinely leafy corners of this part of London, and Malmaison London occupies a spot on its edge, away from the main traffic but only a short walk from Farringdon and the Barbican. The surrounding streets are full of eateries, pubs and bars, so there's plenty to explore once you step outside.

Inside, the 97 rooms lean towards modern decor and are generally spacious and comfortable, each with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, free WiFi and room service. Some guests have noted the rooms can run cold, worth bearing in mind if you feel the chill easily. The hotel has a restaurant and bar on site, along with breakfast service that includes some well-regarded options, plus packed lunches and kids' meals if needed.

Beyond the room, there's a gym, meeting rooms and business services for those combining work with a stay, along with concierge and laundry services, luggage storage and accessible rooms. Pets are welcome, and while there's no on-site parking, chargeable parking can be found nearby. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and the location makes it easy to reach central sights without being in the thick of the crowds.

We had a lovely stay at Malmaison London. The hotel has a great atmosphere, stylish decor, and a welcoming feel. A special thank you to Victor for his unique and thoughtful attention throughout our stay. He went above and beyond to make us feel valued and looked after, and his kindness truly made our experience extra special. The only small downside was that the rooms were a bit hot, which made it slightly less comfortable at times. Aside from that, everything else was wonderful, and we genuinely appreciated the excellent service. We would happily stay here again.

I was rather disappointed. My room was small and had no windows. When I arrived the room was freezing cold, because the AC was set to 15 degrees. The breakfast buffet was very simple, but the breakfast is in the basement (again no windows). I wanted to use the (tiny) gym (again in the basement), but I couldn't because someone who would only come at 8am still had to log into the bicycle trainer... Overall not a good experience. I will not come again. The staff was very friendly though.

I recently stayed at Malmaison London in a Club Room and was deeply disappointed from start to finish. The bathroom was very basic, more in line with a budget hotel than a premium brand. Toiletries were minimal and the overall finish fell well below what you would expect from Malmaison. The bar had a very depressing atmosphere and the hotel's location leaves a lot to be desired. To make matters worse, the customer service throughout our stay was very poor. Communication was lacking and not what I would expect from a hotel of this calibre. Malmaison charges premium prices and guests have every right to expect a premium experience. This was anything but. I would not return and would not recommend this property.

This hotel has downgraded from the last time I went in 2024. I was given a room on the ground floor with no windows. Also the bed sheet were dirty. It was 11pm when I arrived and I was too tired to ask reception to have them changed. I will not be returning. I told the front desk on the next day and they offered to have the bed cleaned with new sheets but I preferred not to have housekeeping touch my belongings. It’s only convenient as very near my office but there are other hotels nearby
