About Travelodge London Bermondsey

Travelodge London Bermondsey works best for anyone after a no-nonsense place to sleep while they get on with exploring Southwark and the rest of London. It suits city-break visitors, weekend wanderers and budget-conscious travellers alike, sitting close to Bermondsey Street and London Bridge with plenty of pubs, restaurants and entertainment on the doorstep.

The hotel has 73 rooms spread across eight floors, including family and accessible options, all with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and free WiFi. There's a restaurant and bar on site, breakfast available each morning, and drinks can be brought to your room. Reception is staffed around the clock, and pets are welcome if you're travelling with one. Chargeable parking can be found nearby at the NCP on Kipling Street, about a 13-minute walk away.

Beds are comfortable and the breakfast is well regarded, with staff generally friendly and ready to help, though service and room upkeep can be inconsistent from one stay to the next. For the price, it remains a practical option for those who want a straightforward base in a well-connected part of London rather than a destination in itself.

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. From start to finish, the entire experience was absolutely flawless, and the staff truly went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. The service here is next-level. We arrived a bit earlier than the standard check-in time, exhausted from traveling, and the front desk team immediately went to work to get our room ready ahead of schedule. Their warmth and genuine hospitality set the tone for the rest of our trip. Every interaction we had with the staff—whether asking the concierge for dining tips or waving to the morning team—was met with authentic smiles and a eagerness to help. The room itself was stunning, incredibly spacious, and completely soundproofed, offering a perfect night of deep sleep. The cleanliness was absolutely pristine, and the modern, thoughtful layout made it feel like a true home away from home. We also sampled the hotel’s breakfast buffet and room service, and the food was outstanding. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and arrived exactly when promised. It’s rare to find a hotel where absolutely every detail is handled with such care, but this property knocks it out of the park. The beautiful design, premium amenities, and world-class customer service make this an absolute gem. I’m already looking at my calendar to plan my next stay here—highly, highly recommended!

I stayed at this property recently and was disappointed by the overall level of service and comfort. At check-in, I arrived 10 minutes before the official 3:00pm time. While I understand check-in policies exist, the interaction at the front desk felt unnecessarily inflexible and unwelcoming. There was no effort made to accommodate an early check-in or to communicate in a courteous or helpful manner. What made the experience more concerning was the change in attitude exactly at 3:00pm, when assistance was suddenly provided without issue. This contrast made the earlier refusal feel arbitrary and avoidable. During my stay, a requested room “top up” was not actioned, and the cleanliness of the bathroom linen was below an acceptable standard. The room itself also lacked basic amenities that would be expected given the price point, such as a small bar fridge. At checkout, there was no proactive engagement from staff. I was not greeted, and was simply directed to leave my key on the counter while staff remained seated, which felt impersonal and disengaged. The location was incredibly convenient for my stay but overall, the experience did not reflect a standard of service or comfort consistent with the tariff charged. Improvements are needed in both customer service consistency and basic room and facility standards.

Ok, but with some really annoying negative parts. Good clean rooms with a comfy bed, exactly what you'd expect from a Travelodge, BUT for a room that cost £196, to then try and make you pay WiFi (after 30 mins) is a joke. Also, I understand why there are motion sensors in the lights (save energy etc) BUT every single time I walked out of my room I was left with a virtually pitch black corridor (image attached) which certainly made me feel uneasy

My company booked this hotel for me, but I would not recommend it at all. The biggest issue is the noise. You can hear trains constantly throughout the day and night, making it difficult to relax or enjoy your room. On top of that, the soundproofing is very poor—you can hear every time a door is opened or closed somewhere in the hotel. Another major disappointment is the Wi-Fi. You only get 30 minutes for free, and after that you have to pay. Charging guests for basic internet access feels completely ridiculous and unacceptable in this day and age. Overall, between the constant train noise, the lack of sound insulation, and the paid Wi-Fi, this will not be/was not a comfortable stay.
