About Travelodge London Central Elephant and Castle

Walk into a room at Travelodge London Central Elephant and Castle and you'll find an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and, in many cases, a view worth pausing for. There are 140 rooms across 11 floors, including family and accessible options, plus drinks available in room for those who'd rather not head back down. It's a straightforward, no-frills setup, though some rooms show their wear and maintenance isn't always kept on top of.

Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar, breakfast service, a lift, 24 hour reception and an electric vehicle charge point. Pets are welcome, which is handy for guests travelling with dogs. Parking isn't on site, but chargeable parking can be found nearby, with the nearest long-stay car park at NCP on Kipling Street around 17 minutes' walk away - public transport is worth considering instead given the hotel's links.

The location is one of the strongest arguments for staying here: Southbank, The Shard and Borough Market are all within reach, and transport connections make it easy to explore further afield. There are also pubs, bars and restaurants nearby for evenings out. It's a hotel that suits guests who want a clean, reasonably priced base in central London rather than a luxury stay.

I had a wonderful stay at Travelodge during my holiday in London. I stayed for two nights, and the hotel was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained throughout my visit. London was experiencing an unusually hot and sunny period, with temperatures reaching 34°C, so having air conditioning in the room was a huge advantage and made my stay much more comfortable. I also really appreciated the facilities provided in the room, including tea, coffee, refreshments, and free WiFi, which added to the overall convenience. The room had everything I needed for a relaxing stay, and the hotel offered excellent value for money. I was very pleased with my experience and would happily stay here again. I will definitely return on my next visit to London. Highly recommended!

I stayed at Travelodge Elephant & Castle last weekend, and I must say that my experience with one member of the reception staff was extremely disappointing. The gentleman Limon who considers himself the manager and the boss as he calls himself, treated guests with extreme arrogance. He was completely inflexible, appeared to make up his own rules, and claimed they were hotel policies. He showed no compassion or understanding towards guests who occasionally needed assistance. His attitude was unprofessional, unpleasant, and made me feel very unwelcome. I believe the hotel should seriously review the conduct of this employee, as customer service should be based on respect, professionalism, and empathy. However, I would also like to point out that when I returned later, I was assisted by Jennifer, who was exceptionally polite, helpful, and professional. She treated me with kindness and demonstrated the level of customer service that guests should expect from a hotel. I would like to thank her for her excellent assistance. The contrast between these two experiences was striking. While Jessica made a positive impression, the behavior of the other staff member left me very disappointed with my stay. I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and uses it to improve the overall guest experience.

This is my second Travelodge in another country and they are all about the same. This location is very central and had a nice food market across the street. We walked to Waterloo marsh market for other food options. Standard rooms, comfortable beds and the basic amenities. One thing I always forget is that Travelodge charges for Wifi!!! It's actually insane because it's only 3 pounds a day so why not just include it with the room price! It's really frustrating to have to login and pay for wifi. Also if you are going to charge for it it better be blazing fast, like so fast my hair flys out the back of my head. But it's not.

I recently stayed at Travelodge London Elephant and Castle for two nights, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and very accommodating throughout my stay, which made a positive difference. The room itself was comfortable and nice, but I do think the cleanliness could be improved, as there were a few areas that didn’t feel as fresh as they could have been. I also tried the breakfast on my second morning. It was simple and fairly priced. It was enjoyable and did the job. Overall, it’s a decent and affordable place to stay with great staff, but with a bit more attention to cleanliness, it could be even better.
