About Travelodge London Docklands
A bar and restaurant on site mean guests at Travelodge London Docklands don't have to venture out for breakfast or an evening drink, though the surrounding streets near Canary Wharf offer plenty of eating and drinking options too. The hotel serves breakfast each morning and keeps drinks available in-room, useful after a day spent exploring or working in the Docklands area.
There are 350 rooms across 16 floors, including upgraded SuperRooms for those wanting extra space or comfort, and all come with en-suite bathrooms. Accessible rooms are available, and a lift serves all floors. Reception operates around the clock, and pets are welcome, making this a practical base for a range of travellers. It should be said that some rooms show their wear, so those particular about finish and polish may want to bear this in mind.
The hotel sits within reach of East India DLR station, putting Canary Wharf and the wider London transport network within easy access. On-site parking is available for a charge, registered at reception on arrival, and an electric vehicle charge point is also provided. Pubs, restaurants and entertainment can be found nearby, rounding out a stay that's built around straightforward value rather than frills.
What guests say
I was very happy with my stay overall. The room was a great size, clean, and the receptionist was welcoming and helpful. Everything about the hotel itself was good, and I would definitely stay here again. Unfortunately, the breakfast experience was extremely disappointing and let the whole stay down. I got up early specifically for breakfast, only to find that there wasn't even a full cooked breakfast available. Several items were missing, and I repeatedly had to ask staff to replenish the food. There were no fried eggs available, and when I asked, I was told they would not be putting any out. There was only scrambled egg, which I don't eat, and in my opinion a cooked breakfast should offer more than one egg option. There were also no normal sausages available, only vegetarian sausages, and I had to ask staff to bring out regular sausages. As someone who is gluten intolerant, I was particularly disappointed to be told there was no gluten-free bread available. I even asked a second member of staff to make sure there hadn't been a misunderstanding, but again I was told there was none. I was then offered an allergy sheet, which seemed rather pointless when the item I needed wasn't available in the first place. The coffee from the breakfast area was also awful. I tried two different machines because I thought the first one might be faulty. Barely any coffee came out, and what did come out tasted so bad that I couldn't drink it and ended up throwing it away. There was also no brown sugar available. Overall, there were no fried eggs, no gluten-free bread, no brown sugar, missing breakfast items, and constant requests were needed just to keep the cooked breakfast stocked. The service simply wasn't there. Ironically, the coffee provided in the room was excellent. Looking back, I wish I had stayed in bed and enjoyed that instead of getting up for what turned out to be a complete waste of my morning. I want to be clear that this review is not a criticism of the hotel itself. The room, cleanliness, and staff on reception were all good, and I would happily stay here again. However, I would avoid the restaurant unless significant improvements are made. The breakfast service needs serious attention, particularly when it comes to keeping food stocked and catering for guests with dietary requirements.

The stay was disappointing from start to finish. The shower pressure was so weak that it felt like washing under a leaking watering can. There was no hairdryer in the room, so I had to go downstairs with wet hair to ask for one. The first hairdryer brought out was filthy, so I refused it and another had to be found. The room door lock was also concerning. It was being held in place by only one screw, while the other two had fallen out and appeared to have simply been pushed back into the holes. Reception was unhelpful. One receptionist spoke so quietly and mumbled so much that I could not understand her. She honestly needs a microphone. The parking situation was even worse. The hotel has more than 300 rooms but fewer than 30 parking spaces. I paid for two nights of parking, but the car park was completely full. I also saw cars parked in disabled bays without Blue Badges. When I complained, reception simply told me to use another car park. The alternative they suggested was around a 15-minute walk away and cost approximately £48 per night. I then received a parking charge while I was sitting in the car trying to search for another parking space. I had already paid for parking and was only there because the hotel car park was full. I later tried to complain to Travelodge, but even finding proper contact details was difficult, and I have still received no reply. Poor room maintenance, terrible parking arrangements and very poor customer service. I would not stay here again.

I’d like to give a special mention to Stella and Shonaly on reception. They were both incredibly helpful and friendly when I needed a bandage from the first aid box. Their kindness and willingness to help were very much appreciated, and they are a real credit to the hotel. The hotel itself is also in a great location and very easy to get to, which made the stay even better.

I booked this hotel as part of 3 Travelodge stays during my time in London. The staff were very good and welcoming despite it being very busy. The room was clean and to a good standard. My only complaint is the shower which was almost non existent. I could have a better shower stood out in the rain!
