About United Lodge Hotel & Apartments

Step inside United Lodge Hotel & Apartments and you'll find bright studios and apartments, each fitted with a kitchenette for guests who want the option of cooking their own meals rather than eating out every night. The rooms sit within a converted Victorian building, giving the place a bit more character than a standard chain hotel, and there's a lounge downstairs for guests to relax in.

Practical extras include breakfast, room service, laundry service and drinks available in the room, along with free Wi-Fi throughout and a garden for some outdoor space. Luggage storage is on hand too, useful for early arrivals or late departures. With 25 rooms in total, it's a manageable size rather than a sprawling hotel block.

The location on Green Lanes puts guests near Finsbury Park in North London, within reach of nearby pubs, bars, restaurants and other eateries for evenings out, plus entertainment options close by. It suits those after flexible, self-catering-style accommodation with the basics covered rather than a full-service luxury stay.

Terrible experience, we had to search for someone to help us check in (by literally walking around hoping to find a staff) it is 94° in the UK, they didn’t even attempt to cool the room by turning the fan on at least, told us room was on 1st floor and it was not! Room was stifling hot, tissue box empty, garbage can already had garbage, front desk person was rude. We left, this was false advertisement on hotels part, very disappointing.

Overdue review from October. This hotel is NOT WORTH any amount of money. We arrived later than anticipated due to airline delays and it was nearly impossible to get someone to get us the room. Upon getting our room, it was the wrong room. Changing was then a complete disaster. Communication was awful, the bed is simply a thin mattress like a pull out sofa - save your money and go somewhere else!

I had a pleasant experience staying at United Lodge Hotel. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. I feel like I got excellent value for money for my stay. Located within walking distance to Emirates Stadium, it’s the perfect place to stay if you’re attending an Arsenal match. I look forward to returning next week 😁

Update after owner’s response: Dear Andy, Thank you for your email. However, I strongly disagree with your version of events and would like to clarify what actually happened. Yes, we stayed as a family of five, and from the beginning it was clearly stated that if the key was lost, a charge would apply. We accepted this. However, when we were checking out and informed you that the key was lost, you demanded a deposit amount that was higher than what had originally been communicated. Moreover, you told us that if we did not pay immediately, you would not release our suitcases. That is not acceptable conduct. When we questioned the amount and explained that the charge was higher than what was first stated, you then claimed that we had consumed drinks from the minibar. We checked together and confirmed that nothing had been used, which you also accepted. After that, you accused us of breaking the side table. The family who stayed in the room insisted clearly and repeatedly that they did not break anything. Despite this, you continued to make this accusation without evidence. You say in your message that you called the police. That is not correct. In fact, we told you to call the police, and when you did not, we called them ourselves. The police did not attend because they said this was a matter that should be resolved between the parties. In order to avoid further stress, we paid the amount you demanded and left. Ten days later, when we found the lost key and returned it, you told us that the locks had already been changed. Despite this, you still insisted that we give the key back. You asked for our bank details and promised that you would refund us later. Trusting your word, we returned the key. My question to you is very simple: If the locks had already been changed and the key was no longer usable, why did you insist on getting it back and promise a refund, which was never made? We believe your email places all the blame on us while ignoring your own actions during this situation. We acted in good faith throughout and even returned the key based on your promise. We remain open to resolving this properly and fairly. You have our bank details. We expect you to honour what you said. Kind regards, Fikret Uzunyayla
