About Ibis Budget Manchester Centre Pollard Street
Travellers after a straightforward, affordable stay rather than a lot of extras will get on well with Ibis Budget Manchester Centre Pollard Street. It suits city breaks, quick overnight stops or work trips where the main requirement is a clean, comfortable room close to the centre without paying over the odds.
The hotel has 150 rooms spread across six floors, each with an en-suite bathroom and air conditioning, plus family and accessible rooms for those who need them. Rooms are on the compact side and walls aren't the thickest, so it's worth knowing this is a place built for practicality rather than space or seclusion. Staff are noted for being helpful, which counts for a lot on a short stay.
Breakfast and a snack bar are available on site, along with a bar for an evening drink, and there's a lift, luggage storage and a laundry service for guests who need them. Pets are welcome too. There's no parking at the property, but the location makes up for it, with pubs, restaurants and other eateries nearby and good access to Manchester's public transport and attractions.
What guests say
A very good budget hotel on the edge of Manchester city centre. The location is convenient, especially if you want to use public transport. New Islington tram stop is only a few minutes walk away, so you can easily travel around Manchester by tram. Manchester Piccadilly railway station is also within walking distance, and in around 20 minutes you can walk into the heart of the city centre. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. One member of staff even took the time to give us useful tips about places to visit in Manchester and in the surrounding area, which we really appreciated. We arrived before the official check-in time, but we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel free of charge while we went into the city. Also by check-out time is it possible. Our room was basic, as you would expect from an ibis budget, but absolutely fine for our stay. You should not expect luxury, but everything we needed was there: a television, plenty of power sockets, air conditioning, a window that could be opened, a mirror, bedside lighting, a private toilet and shower. The shower was also perfectly fine, with soap provided and a shower head with two different settings. Security is well organised too. Your key card is needed to operate the lift, access the hotel after certain hours and enter your room. This gives the hotel a safe and secure feeling. Housekeeping was good as well. If you hang the housekeeping sign outside your room, they come in to refresh the room and replace the towels and bed linen when required. Breakfast is also available for an additional charge if it is not included in your booking. It is a buffet with a good selection and enough choice for different tastes. We thought it was perfectly good for a budget hotel. Overall, a very good choice if you are looking for an affordable hotel in Manchester with friendly staff, decent rooms, good security and excellent public transport connections. When you visit Manchester, visit than also York and Liverpool our tip! We would happily stay here again.

This is a budget hotel so I expected less comfort and a bit of a squeeze. The building itself was modern and easy to find, offering great public transport routes. The staff were warm, helpful and friendly and the breakfast was good but perhaps a bit pricey for continental. That being said, there was plenty of it. The rooms were clean and safe. However, I am 195cm so they felt a bit restrictive (the toilet in particular). The shower offers little privacy and the sink is in the room. The double bed also had some odd partition on the head end. Despite this I thoroughly enjoyed it, had a good stay. It felt more like a hostel than a hotel but I would definitely return at the prices we paid for the room.

Honestly well chuffed with this. Seen loads of reviews saying the beds are awful and they had a terrible sleep. Have to say I think mattresses are a preference. They are firm mattresses. But I love that, has a great nights sleep. Shower was great, room size was spot on for a cheap and cheerful weekend, visited for a festival. Room was clean. No kettle but hot water machine in reception with complimentary tea/ coffee and also cold water. Really have absolutely nothing to complain about. You can ask for pretty much anything at reception. Hair dryer or toiletries or whatever. Round the corner from a tram stop and a few stores and places to eat local. Anyone that’s complaining is a fanny.

very lovely rooms for the price. comfortable beds, good location and nice city views. very close to concert venues so it’s very convenient! only bad thing is that you don’t get much to watch on tv, but that’s it :) staff are lovely and helpful.
