Ivy Mount Guest House

The hotel was easy to find, the staff were lovely and the room we had was clean and modern which was great! the only thing we would have expected would be shower products and hair wash etc and a working hairdryer. Also unfortunately the walls are very thin and we were woken up both nights by the young girls staying next to us who were loud and drunk at 5am.. Lovely stay despite these 2 things and would recommend.

This hotel gets the 5* rating especially for the quality of breakfast! 😋 Everything about if was perfect. I had the additional pleasure of chatting with the owner, Paul, who was most welcoming, as well as cooking breakfast. 👍 The coffee too, was one of the best cups I can remember. The room was most comfortable and a good night's rest was had. Well worth another visit.

Lovely accommodation, the breakfast was great, the room was nice, warm and clean. Great location for visiting city centre, £9 by cab. On site parking is great, if a little cramped. The bathroom was a bit tired and sadly i hardly slept at all, the walls are so thin you can practically hear the other guests breathing, kept awake by the rather enthusiastic couple above. Definitely consider soundproofing.

Stayed here in September for a conference. Shared with a friend who was also attending. The staff were rude, it was almost as if we'd turned up unannounced and were an inconvenience to them which is not what you expect from a guest house. When we asked for dinner we were told that there wasn't enough, we were the 1st ones in the restaurant that evening, according to the huffy man who works on the desk and kitchen they do not make lots of food incase no one eats there. That is not how to run a business to satisfy your guests. The beds were uncomfortable, if you moved it was as if the bed was launching you out of bed. For the price we paid the room wasn't great, nor was it very clean. All these issues were discussed with the man at the desk but each time he was extremely unhelpful and rude. Definitely wouldn't stay again or recommend to anyone. Such a shame as it could be a lovely hotel given the time and effort.
