Kimpton Clocktower Hotel

This hotel is honestly one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. They have thought of absolutely everything! We had a 'standard room' and it was absolutely beautiful. We had a fridge in the room with milk and water provided in there. The furniture was beautiful. The room was exceptionally clean!! We forgot our phone chargers and they allowed me to charge my phone at the front desk for free! Tony at reception was very accommodating and very friendly. We struggled to find our room once we arrived and there was a man in the lift (I think he was cleaning the lift) He waited for us and helped us find our room! I regret not asking for his name, he was so helpful!.. the hotel has complimentary drinks from 5-6pm which was amazing! The refuge bar is such a good vibe, we didn't feel the need to go into Manchester to any other bars. We had breakfast at the hotel and they've thought of absolutely everything, there's an amazing variety of choices!! We can't wait to stay again and we were sad to leave! Thank you so much for a great experience!

I recently stayed at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel during a work trip to Manchester, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. 👍 After a nightmare 7-hour train journey from Ely, I arrived feeling hot, tired and rather worse for wear. The warm welcome I received at check-in immediately lifted my spirits and set the tone for the rest of my stay. The hotel itself is stunning, with beautiful iconic décor and plenty of character. I was delighted to be upgraded to a bedroom, which was immaculate and incredibly comfortable. The complimentary bottle of beer waiting in the mini-fridge was a thoughtful touch and very much appreciated after my long journey. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep before a busy day of meetings. The location is also ideal, being only around a 10-minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly Station. 🚆🚉 Food was another highlight of my stay. The Refuge restaurant offers a great selection of dishes, and the breakfast was outstanding. I enjoyed a delicious cooked breakfast that really set me up for the day ahead. 😋🍴 Overall, a fantastic hotel with excellent service, beautiful surroundings, comfortable rooms and great food. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it to both business and leisure travellers visiting Manchester.

Really enjoyed our stay. Standard room. Quiet location towards the centre of the hotel. Staff very friendly. Breakfast service medium to slow but a nice range nevertheless. Gorgeous building with a nice atmosphere. Would stay again. Bedroom and bathroom spotless each day by Sunny. Nice touches with the welcome drinks and complementary snacks. Literally just across the road from the theatre, which was our reason for visiting Manchester.

We booked Kimpton Clocktower Manchester for a special birthday celebration for my wife and daughter. While the hotel itself is stunning and the initial check-in went smoothly, the management and staff operations turned what should have been a memorable evening into a completely stressful nightmare. After dinner at the hotel restaurant, our waitress was clearly rushed off her feet. Wanting to get my exhausted 2-year-old daughter to bed, I explicitly asked the waitress whether I should pay immediately or charge the bill to our room. She confirmed charging to the room was fine. I signed the itemized receipt, left a tip, and went up to our room. What followed was an unbelievable sequence of amateurish harassment: The First Interruption: I received a phone call demanding immediate payment. When I explained that we and our toddler were sleeping, the staff member offered a ridiculously cocky response: "Well, you answered the phone." The Second Interruption: Shortly after, a staff member physically knocked on our bedroom door demanding payment again. I explained for the second time that my daughter was fast asleep and I refused to turn on all the lights to hunt for my wallet, promising to settle it in the morning. The Final Straw: A second phone call was made to the room, waking up my 2-year-old daughter and completely ruining our night. This experience leaves me asking three basic operational questions that management clearly cannot answer: 1. Why was a credit card not pre-authorized to our room upon check-in? Standard hotel policy across any reputable establishment dictates pre-authorizing a card to enable room charges seamlessly. 2. Why did restaurant staff accept and process a signed room charge receipt if the system or front desk was unable to process it? 3. Where does your staff get off exhibiting such arrogant, defensive attitudes to cover up their own internal communication breakdown and operational screw-ups? To repeatedly harass a family with a toddler late at night over an internal billing error created entirely by their own staff's incompetence is utterly inexcusable for a supposedly premium hotel. Beautiful building, utterly appalling management. Avoid if you value peace, quiet, or basic professional customer service.
